This is an average r/nba comment on a Hornets vs. Jazz preseason game

I literally cried and begged Adam Silver to anoint Embiid as the MVP.

It was pretty cringe to make post after post on here telling us to downvote jokic highlights and upvote his lowlights. Denver fans mocked us with their team getting the job done and Jokic dominating for their first finals win.

It’s insane how many championships that annoying city has experienced. 😔

  5. This sub is so sad. We should be walking with our tail between our legs. It’s actually impressive how you guys find these excuses. Embiid sucked in the playoffs. He has nothing to say. Celtics gave us a W in game 6 and until half time in game 7 and our “stars” couldn’t find a way to win. It’s actually straight up embarrassing, and somehow you guys still find a way to make the Joel/jokic debate a thing, it is not.

Rusty buckets is a total fucking schmuck, idk why you’d watch his biased ass vids

I see no lies personally, Joel choked hard and there really aren’t any defenses for him. Jokic proved he was better in the playoffs.

This man doesn’t know how commas, work.

History is written by victors. Sadly, I wish that was true here.

I’m in the “blow it tf up and watch it burn” camp, but Joel absolutely deserved the MVP based on the regular season.

Breaking news fans support their franchise player 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Embiid had one of the best scoring seasons of all time while playing dpoy defence. It was an mvp that could’ve went different ways and thats okay.

Joker did have a better year i think, and i think narrative was the deciding factor. That being said it was close enough to swing either way, and narrative is often the deciding factor.

I fell to my knees in a Wawa and cried until he got the MVP, comment checks out

  16. Doobie_Howitzer

It’s true, I was actively in the process of making an MVP trophy for him out of my tears (that way it wouldn’t be so itchy).

Only hardware he’ll ever get and it wasn’t really deserved. Like Robinson in 94, will forever be remembered as the inferior big man. Cope and seeth

“Most undeserving MVP ever” is such a wild take for the dude who averaged the most points ever while not being named Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, or James Harden.

  19. BlackJediSword

That comment looks just like a regular r/nba comment. Reminds me of Luka’s rookie year

  20. The funny bit is when you look at the situations with both players over the last two years, it’s very similar but the reactions are wildly different.

When Embiid took it easy towards the end of the season in preparation for the playoffs and Jokic stepped up to win the MVP, it was praised and Embiid was shat on. Now that they did the exact opposite last year, it was because Jokic had higher team goals and Embiid was selfish. When Jokic got targeted and bounced early in the playoffs, it was “it’s a regular season award that has nothing to do with the playoffs”. When Embiid got knocked out in the second round and had a lackluster series while playing injured, it was “look how he shat the bed, Jokic should have won!”.

Unfortunately, NBA social media has turned into a bunch of 15 year olds that will shift the narrative to align with their opinion. Because of this, NBA media has turned into a bunch of “journalists” that care more about engagement and clicks than quality, so they’ll latch onto these narrative shifts to appease the 15 year olds.
