Low’s entire bias against Stockton/Malone is quite literally just coaching…like every single one of his complaints about them is actually just the system.
This is one of those instances where you just had to have actually played the game. Your coach does NOT want you straying too far away from the system, and obviously a more heliocentric style of offense like the D’Antoni Suns with Nash is gonna look VASTLY different than the Stockton/Malone Jazz
…that does NOT mean that both point guards did not succeed heavily in their roles, that DOES mean that it is very hard to legitimately compare the two and it does NOT mean that Stockton’s passing was not extremely valuable just because it doesn’t pass Low (and basically everyone up there’s) extremely vague definition of playmaking.
There has to be something said for someone who played basketball at a high level or coached at a high level opposed to somebody who has done neither and is simply a super fan who's invested heavily in the game. You look at the game differently.
