Jaylen always brings up they put each other in head locks lmao, I wonder how that incident actually went down, looks like they look back at it and laugh about it a lot.
Glad he acknowledged that Smart was the problem
ESPN: Jaylen Brown airs laundry?
Damn it Jaylen, I had just gotten over Marcus. Why would you make me cry again?
In some ways, I think an aspect of the Smart trade was to be a bit of a wake up call. These guys underperformed last year. It was in their hands to be better, they had all the talent but they weren’t able to show up and do it.
While I don’t think it was the primary reason for the trade by any means, it’s a real kick in the ass that like, “guys this shit is fleeting. Nothing stays the same in this league, and if you take where you are for granted, or get too comfortable and underperform, people get traded, or lose their jobs etc. You aren’t going to be able to keep everyone you got here with, if the same shit keeps happening over and over.”
The thing that was so frustrating about this team last year was that they had everything they needed, and they just kept disappearing at the weirdest moments. It wasn’t solely on Smart in any way, but you can’t keep doing that shit, lose, and expect the team to stay the same.
Smart for Porizingus is just forcing everybody to play differently. The basic geometry of the court is now such that, you just aren’t gonna keep getting stuck in the same places late in games that you have been for the past few years. You may get stuck in different places, but let’s be real, every time the ball ended up in Marcus’ hands for every goddamn last shot was a fuckin heart attack. I love the guy, but that is not going to work.
