This first year absolutely in rebuild mode. It’s all about Wemby and young role players around him.

I think they are still in rebuild. They have a great chance to get another top 5 pick. The Spurs are in a situation where they can set themselves up for the future.

I’m all for having high expectations and big goals for my SPURS.. However like with any big venture or investment, we have to be realistic about where we are as a team. Nobody knows the chemistry of this youngest team in the NBA, as we haven’t seen a single NBA game with our franchise player Wembanyama. He’s the man we are building this team around, and we absolutely need to get one full season with Victor playing at least 65 games in order to recognize and know our team dynamics and chemistry. It’s too early to make any predictions at all. We don’t know if Wemby can even play 65 games, much less be rookie of the year. We don’t know how Cidy Sissoco is going to do either. Also we have an open point guard position with the Suns trade. We don’t know how the last year’s roster is going to blend in with the new guys. We will definitely increase our winning percentage and games, and we will certainly see the makings of our core team after the upcoming season. It may be possible that we are the lowest seed playoff team in the West, but that is a lofty goal for a young team we’ve never seen before. We have to see what this team can do before moving forward with our next moves for draft day next year and trades. We have so many 1st and 2nd round picks in the next few years.. We are 100% in the BUILDING phase of this franchise team. Let’s give our crew some space to grow together. I’m just as excited and eager to watch my next SPURS dynasty team destroy all the other NBA teams. Our time is coming, and it will be most likely in three to four years.
Fournier, please no, there is a good damn reason he is riding the bench, plus he doesn't play defense, Bullock is taller and a better defender.

Year one should be Vassell’s team,year two Wemby should take over.
No team with a generational talent on the roster can be in a rebuild. Rebuild is synonymous with "tearing it all down and looking for what to build around." Spurs are beyond that now. We're now looking forward. We're not championship contenders yet, but it's a matter of time as we tinker with the roster and build that experience.
