Raptors Sign Dennis Schroder To Replace Fred VanVleet | Resign Jakob Poeltl! Fred Made A Mistake!

I will be discussing the Raptors free agency moves. Fred Vanvleet leaves the Raptors and the Raptors were quick to replace him with Dennis Schroder! The Raptors also resigned Jakob Poeltl. I will be breaking down each move and give you my opinion on it. Make sure to like and comment your thoughts on the Raptors moves.

  1. Schroeder is a good value pick up. Better distributor of the ball than Van Vleet, and takes no silly shots like Van Vleet took which turned into turnover points of dunks or layups. No more easy points

  2. I’m happy for Fred, he got a nice contract. He help win a championship for us, he made it happen. Big picture, we couldn’t pay this much money for Fred. Thanks Freddy, but it’s time to move forward.

  3. What will other Rockets players with limited salaries think about FVV with the big bag if he performs as he did in Raptors last season? You can image. Dennis Schroder is a good sign, he doesn't shot 20 times per game and is more efficient player than FVV with very reasonable price.

  4. Everybody knows Fred is all about his money. “Fred when asked about free agency “you know I love having these conversations” he was always going to take the money.

  5. For the people who ONLY SEE 3pt shooting as "the way" to win – here are some examples to show there are more than one-way to win. The Heat ranked 22nd this year. Memphis, New York (Play-off teams) 23 and 24th rankings. Top 3 ranked: Philly, Clippers, GSW – GSW didn't make play-off, the top two didn't make the final four. Yes 3 pt shooting is important, but doesn't hold as much weight as fans and media give it! Anyone remember the genius coaching decision NN made in teh play-offs two years ago vs. Philly, by put FVV on Embid on a throw-in to finish the game? To recap – ball got passed back to Embid after he threw it in easily (w/o any defensive disruption) over VV, and Joel hit a 3pter over the struggling 5,10 VV trying to block the 7 footers shot! Philly wins the game, Raps down 3-1 in series.

  6. Good for fred 🎲🎲🎲 bet on youself !!! But for that money im glad raps didnt sign him.

  7. Bro, take it easy on Fred. He just went out and secured the generational wealth for his growing family. I don't believe that Masai values loyalty to the Raptors. Look, he traded Demar, he traded Norman Powell, he refused to pay Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry. You just can't trust that guy to look after your family because in the end, he's only looking out for the interest of the team.

  8. Van fleet won power ball lottery and shooder he is simliar to rondo .I can't believe he got a little more then Irving.

  9. This has to happen, Fred’s not a team player and this proved it. OG is a much more desirable player and with Fred gone we actually have a chance at keeping him. Fred and nurse were poison this year. And Schroeder is a decent point guard that helped the lakers to a chip, with him gone the next year they sucked, we haven’t lost we have gained everything.

  10. solid take. but can't be mad at mans betting on himself. happy about schroder signing

  11. So happy to see Fred gone! The Raptors played best last season when they were getting fast ball movement or make fast transitions, but Fred isn't that type of PG. Fred is a great player, but he just didn't fit with the style of play that the rest of the team worked best playing. Same goes for Nick Nurse. With Darko as coach and now Schroder as PG, I'm hoping we will see the Raptors focus on developing more of that high paced style of play.

  12. The thing about it is this. FVV has got a huge bullseye on his back. Every guard in the NBA is going to be giving him the business on the court. He better be ready for that. He does not have Pascal, OG or Jakob, Scottie to help. He is by himself. You think any of those young guys in Houston care to play D? Nope. He is being paid like he is a superstar and he is not even close. One can say that he got lucky with his one all-star selection, because remember his game notably fell off in the second half of that year. Fred was always about the bag, and the bag only. If he wasn't, he would either resigned with Raptors on a very generous deal, and modified his game to fit the new dynamics, or agreed to a sign and trade to a team that wanted to move ahead with him. Instead he went with the money option. Not surprised. He's going to a team that with him or without him is projected to be a 25 win team. They're trash. Hope he loves losing because it's going to be a really really long season in Houston.

  13. excellent analysis. if only the rocket's head office could have heard this two days ago. lol.

  14. He earned the right to chase the bag though. I’m not mad at it. At the end of the day, it is a business. Player have a limited window to make as much money as the can for them and their families. I’m sure u being a teacher, if a big name school offer u a crazy bag to go teach there where u won’t have to work again after 2 years, you probably would take it.

  15. Look back at the Goran situation and keep Nick and Fred in your mind.

    We are free!
    Pensare was right.

    Go Raptors!
