I’m just glad Jeremy was taking them. Hopefully the percentage continues to go up but as a rookie just being willing to take them and try stuff on offense was good enough for me, given that he was supposedly going to be useless on that end
Tre, I would like to see more shots start to go in
Honestly this isn’t surprising. Jeremy had a few periods this year where he went something like a couple weeks in a row without hitting a three despite taking them every game
Jones was just all kinds of inconsistent
Before his rapid free throw improvement, I would have been a bit more concerned, but he’s shown enough for me to feel that he, Jeremy, at the very least, he’ll probably turn into an adequate shooter in the mid and short range. Not to mention if he can keep his free throw shooting up. His ability to cash in at the line will probably become a solid part of his game down the road. The dude really knows how to generate contact
As far as last year’s concerned, he wasn’t really expected to be much of a factor from distance, so I’m glad he at least it took them
Jones, on the other hand, I’m genuinely concerned about.
Going all the way back to high school. His stroke really hasn’t improved much. If he was a few inches taller, a dynamite athlete, or had some other sort of high level offensive swing skill, this wouldn’t be an issue
But the only reason is disastrous shooting is even remotely acceptable is quite frankly because the team isn’t trying to win right now
If you can’t get his shooting up to at least below average levels. Not only is he not a future starter, but he might even have problems being a guy who gets consistent minutes in playoff moments down the road. With his particular player profile, it’s just a huge huge issue if he’s going to be a dreadful shooter
Not really concerned about either in the grand scheme of things. It limits them in their ceiling, but both do so much good, that they will have long NBA careers.
