Can't believe I'm this early! Keep doing your thing jsm, love the consistent content. I want Christian wood on the team but his attitude may not mesh (his offense will) and his lack of defensive commitment is an issue. Biyombo is the choice for me and starting Jackson is cool but AD must return to shooting form to threaten defense and space the floor.
Christian might eff around and go back to the g league. That Dillon Brooks highlight was funny. They weren't letting him get a point. 😅
Bron does not need to be guarding any 3s. Keep AD at the 5 and have Hayes come off the bench.
They need to sign Castleton.
AD and JH is an awkward fit cuz both can't shoot the 2020 AD can shoot that's why AD and javale work together
The team needs two more centers and they will be set. Azubuike was just signed on a two-way contract with Utah (who already have Kessler, Olynyk, Micah Potter, and Yurtseven), so right now a combination of Neemias Queta and Meyers Leonard would work. Queta would be another rim protector and Leonard's ability to spread the floor would work alongside AD.
This team definitely needs a big and another shooter but it's crazy how balanced it is. Only 1 bad defender (DLo) and 1 bad offensive player (Vando). Everyone else is average to above average all around players.
the positions were created so that a novice can understand the game (Jalen Rose). The Lakers wont have a true point guard, Russel, Reaves and Bron will share the ball handling and playmaking responsibilities. Neither AD nor Hayes is a true center, AD will have more "Center" responsibilities on defense and Hayes will have more "Center" responsibilities on offense.
Lakers need a Center that shoots 3-pointers like Wood and Meyer Leonard to spread the floor and only play a few minutes off the bench. Lakers already have AD, Jaxson and Castleton none of them shoot 3-pointers. Maybe a forward who can spread the floor and tall enough to get rebounds.

Hayes will not start with AD unless there are no other options. There's not enough shooting in that lineup to create the space that AD/Lebron need to be effective.

I think it will work because AD is looking to lose the weight that he gain last year and I think he will shoot 33-35% from 3 but we will see.
bro just because ad will be listed at the 4 means he would be playing as a true pf whole game🤣 he wouldnt be pulled at the perimeter whole game and not all teams pf can shoot 3s like that

JSM – thanks for making this video. You nailed all the problems with trying to duplicate the 2020 twin towers.
The #1 reason Lakers went from #13 seed to WCF is AD at the defensive 5. AD needs to be protecting the paint.
Another thing to consider is the twin towers likely takes away minutes from Rui at PF. Rui is not a SF.
You are 100% correct. I didn't think of that. Hayes is actually a tall power forward as he will not lock the post down. Ad is slower now due to his added bulk since 2020. He is better at the center. Technically we need 2 shooting bigs or keeping AD at center 100% of the time.

I think it's not who's gonna play the 4 or 5 when utilizing Jax and AD as a "twin tower" line up. A big advantage is that they both can play either a primary rim protector and/or help defender. This will make them a tall switchable team. I get the point you brought but that is not the main reason why the pairing is great. Yes they have strength on defense but what is beautiful about it both can play either. AD is a better primary defender but Jax is still serviceable at the same role and vise versa.
I mean imagine making plays where AD plays center on defense and PF on offense

We are beginning to guess about various line ups around getting AD to start or play significant min at PF. I need to point out that Labron is the protected asset which I suspect is why Rui Vando Prince Chritie and Reddish were secured. AD will need to accept Center for 50-60 games because Hayes is a stretch 4 with 3 pt pedigree and AD is a Top 4 Center and lacking in 3pt efficiency. Vando is not a 5 regardless of his wingspan

I think Rui should start at the 4 of even the three to untapped his potential. Run lebron at the 4 and Ad stay at center
I think an idea is to let AD shoot 3s on the offensive end by shifting him to the 4 and corner while Hayes stays in the dunker spot. Might not be amazing but could possibly run some plays to switch it and give AD post up opportunities. otherwise let AD shoot as a last ditch effort and then focus on defense. Kind of a crazy idea but I’m thinking this is like 10 MPG where AD and Hayes share the floor. I believe in AD reinvigorating his 3 ball

Defensively this is a solid pairing. Offensively you’d have to have 3 of your best 3pt shooters. Reaves, Christie, Prince, AD, Hayes I’d say
This is also a pitch to get AD to sign his extension and a message to CWood that he’s only competing with Hayes for that spot
