This wasn't a bad trade for the Jazz. You aren't taking account that he will probably trade each of Lauri and Sexton individually for stronger picks. Then hope the Cavs don't play well. A few year's, or an injury can change a lot. While there might be a team like the Lakers, or still the Knicks, Hornets that might want a Lauri or Sexton now. Maybe they get another couple 1sts. I love Obaji, dude was part of a winning team in college. I think he's a huge get in this trade. Cavs depth will suffer a bit.. If I'm the Cavs I'd done this early in the year and asked for Beverley also.
Great trade for the Cavs, better fit than the Knicks. If only they'd done it sooner and gotten Patrick Beverley to back up Garland… smh….
If Kwaih fails and gets injured again this year. I'd love to see my guy PG go to the Cavs. Or even the Warriors, I just want to see Paul George win a ring lol.

The Knicks first rounders weren’t nearly as valuable though. A majority of their tradable firsts are pretty highly protected while the Cavs offered 3 that weren’t plus swaps

Agbaji makes it basically 4 1sts unprotected, money matches up better, and he fits WAYYY better next to Garland than he ever would have with Brunson. No one else in that Cavs starting lineup is a scorer first, and Garland put up 9 dimes a game last year. Brunson, Barrett, and Randle all take lots of shots, and Brunson was lured to NYK w the promise of leading the offense.
Majority of actual Knick fans (not the Stephen A’s of the world) are totally fine missing this trade; would’ve cost us tons of assets and fan favorites/high upside young talent. Cavs got to part ways w two vets to make a move that makes so much more sense for them

Mitchell was the perfect fit to this team, this is going to be fun. Knicks took an L, but the returns the Jazz got were great, Danny Ainge is rebuilding right.
