(Stein) The Celtics, league sources say, have interest in re-signing Blake Griffin. Less clear is Griffin’s stance, at 34, on returning to Boston for a 15th NBA season.

I was at TD Garden for that Pistons game in Feb. Still remember the electrifying atmosphere where Blake dove on the floor for a loose ball up by 17 in the 4th.

Being a good locker room guy, giving 110% of his efforts whenever his number gets called… Can’t ask for more from a player on a vet min.

  2. I hope Blake resigns because this roster is lacking a clear “energy/vibes” guy.

My guess is that the C’s are holding one of the open roster spots for Blake, and Blake might be looking for a bigger role first and/or an LA team.

Also, maybe he’s thinking about retiring.

Love him for the vibes but not for positional security. Between KP/Al/Rob/Kornet we’ve got a very serviceable big man rotation – could be fun to run Blake at the 4 though

    Come on Blake…

Sign a 2 year deal and HOPEFULLY get a chip!!!

Blake played just 41 games and fewer than 800 minutes. A big part of that is we have no need for more than bench vibes and garbage time. Adding KP means fewer minutes than last year.

Regardless of whether he plays, Blake’s knees hurt. Travel in the NBA is an uncomfortable burden.

    A ring would be great.

Is no role, bad knees, travel, and a minimum paycheck worth the _chance_ of a ring and playing a little more basketball?

Or does Blake want to get on with his life of bad knees, no paycheck, _comfortable_ travel, and banging old supermodels?

This is not an easy decision for Blake Griffin. No joke.

Release Luke Kornet. Sign Derrick Jones/Biyombo/Diallo/Lamar Stevens/Nowell. Then sign Blake. If Blake doesn’t come sign 2 of them and cut Kornets ass.

Blake is still a good player despite what a lot of people here might think. His injuries took a toll on him and he can’t regularly give you starter minutes but he’s a guy who can start if injuries make that necessary and will otherwise give us good minutes when he’s on the floor.

In the Nets series from a little over a year ago, he was the only player on that team who gave effort and he was solid for them. He doesn’t play a lot because of our depth but don’t just look at his minutes.

  9. I was at the Garden on Jan 19th for the finals rematch against the warriors this past season. My 2nd biggest take away behind Draymond being the most annoying player possibly in the history of the NBA was that Blake was one of the best guys on that bench. Constantly cheering his teammates on, goofing with the guys on the bench, and I can remember him pulling each of the starters to the side individually during timeouts to tell them things he noticed in the game. Would love to have him back in green.

I have a feeling Blake will make his decision after training camp so he doesn’t have to go

Where else is he going to have it better at 34?

Really hope Blake comes back. Need a dude like him in the locker room and from a fan’s perspective, he’s very easy to root for.
