Why Luka Never Skips FIBA Tournaments

Luka Doncic has promised his home country Slovenia to play for them every FIBA tournament as long as he’s healthy. In this video, we’ll look at the reasons why Luka prefers playing for the Slovenian National Team over the Dallas Mavericks & why other NBA stars aren’t as interested in the World Cup.

  2. there should be clause in the contract like football protecting players from losing there contract in case of injuries sustained during representing national team

  3. I think with Jokić It also might be that he doesn't wish to face backlash as he is front man for Serbian team. Of course it's not his fault if our team loses. There are many variables to it, but it probably tires him out, seeing or hearing other people talking. To be honest i think most of them get drained out by the whole process just to lose at the end… I think that might be how they see it… Plus they need to train more as a team. I think Serbian national team has to do that more… Maybe I'm wrong. Hoping you guys read my comment. Cheers from 25 year old Serbian fan

EDIT: That's how I think most people in Serbia might see Jokić refusing to play. I think some top tear players lie they can't cuz they too tired physically while others just chose not to play because of possible backlash from people and how disappointed fans can get… That's how i feel about it… But then again, who knows, but only coaches of national team. I think they got enouth connections with clubs where they can check if some is lying their ass off… But Miloš Teodosić said it the best, players should use that opportunity and play for national team because they can gain valuable experience from it… Which i believe so

  4. I’m a bit new to euroleague, and I’ve wondered how do players hope to get better if they’re seasons end in late June and start up again in April? I’ve noticed that a lot of the guys from Europe skills get sharper after a year or 2 in the nba.

  5. I wouldn’t be shocked one bit if Luka left the NBA after his second max contract to go play back home again

  6. Luka is in the NBA only for the money, nothing else.
He'd rather be in Slovenia's beautiful beaches.
    I don't blame him.

  7. You're actually kind of wrong about the United States. It's true that a lot of players don't care to join in when were on a winning streak but the millisecond we lose the olympics the players on the team are crucified and we feel obligated to assemble the Avengers 😂

  8. Slovenia now with 2 millions people is same like Lithuania with 3 million people.

  9. Serbia basketball cult had been shaken recently. Jokic called out the fans last year: "We're not basketball fans – we're fans of winning." The country is deeply devided politically and in fandom. When 80 percent of the country is split in hatred between two teams it is hard to come together and get behind a national team. Basketball team switched colors from red to blue(Yugoslavia colors) primarily because Partizan fans won't get behind red jerseys. On top of that, the basketball association couldn't hold onto Djordjevic as a coach and know have 90 year old Pesic driving players out of the team (Teodisic, Nedović) to establish authority while playing ancient basketball forcing superstars to fit his scheme instead of building a game plan around arguably best player in the world and the best guard in Europe(Micić).

  10. I wish they would have kept the World Cup on the same yearly schedule as before. Now it's too close to the Olympics and players skip it

  11. Luka might be arrogant, but nothing just respect for this attitude. Great players often likes to skip World Cup it's great that Luka is not one of them.

  12. What is Luka's cousin doing with this channel? And then pretending he's not related… wtf
