Theme of this season seems to be motivation
Everyone seems to want to put the stain of last season behind them
That in-season tournament trophy would be really nice next to an NBA finals trophy.
Now imagine Steph with the in-season tournament MVP, Magic Johnson award, and finals MVP at the parade.
Plus, with all the cap restrictions, being a competitive in-season tournament team might be a big incentive for players at the lower end of payroll. Hence, it is a big incentive for the whole team, who wants those high-level minimum salary players.
That’s dumb
Of course the boys wants to win it. It’s another trophy to add to the dynasty.
And I want to see them win the inaugural tournament, and for Steph to win the In-season MVP.
If we win it, it’s just as important as an NBA championship.
If we don’t win it, it’s just a gimmicky title and doesn’t mean anything.
