The Toronto Raptors surprised the NBA world when they named Darko Rajakovic as their next head coach but just two months later, fans are wondering if he really was the right man to replace Nick Nurse in this role. The vast majority people in the Raptors community are Canadians who have taken a big interest in the FIBA World Cup where coincidentally Nick Nurse was also recently replaced as head coach but in this case, it was Sacramento Kings Associate Head Coach Jordi Fernandez.
Team Canada has dominated at the FIBA World Cup of basketball thus far, largely due to the coaching by Fernandez, and fans of the Raptors are now wondering if Masai Ujiri’s front office made a mistake by passing him up for the role of Head Coach in Toronto when he was indicated to be one of the finalists to land the position.
What has caused Raptors fans all of a sudden to feel this way and did the Raptors really make a mistake with their head coaching hire? Jacob Gramegna gives his perspective today on Amateur Hour Sports.

The only way Coach Darko will be let go is if he was directly involved with the issues re the law suit from the N.Y. Knicks. If it shows that he is innocent, then let him move forward best of luck and see what the future holds.
FYI, in a way I am happy Coach Jordi did not get hired so he could be hired as the National team coach, kudos to Rowan Barrett.

raptors are not a stacked all star team like team canada, so i dont think jordi would have the same success as with team canada. end of the day darko is a proven development coach which is what they needed.
I like all the decisions the front office done. I think they done a great job this summer.😊
