LeBron would not drive to the basket after getting a couple elbows to the face and ribs seeing how he act like he get shot every time someone touch him . The NBA is a direct reflection of the criminal justice system in America. In the criminal justice system, blacks and whites commit the same crimes but the blacks get punished more harshly. Example-crack cocaine versus powder cocaine and opioids. We saw how blacks with crack got prison sentences and whites with opioids were given empathy for their usage . Well the NBA is the same way. When the Boston Celtics, the choice of the white fan base and media did dirty tactics, NEVER any complaints. But when the Detroit Pistons, representing black Detroit played a similar style, code words were used to describe them and to punish them.
There's a defensive philosophy in basketball that some teams have used where they basically foul the other team all game long because they know the refs can't call everything. That's what the Pistons did. They shoved, grabbed, raped, assaulted and knocked you down the entire game and while it was ugly it worked for a couple of years. That is until Jordan started lifting weights and put on 20 pounds of muscle so he could finally deal with the beatings he was taking. If you didn't watch it you really don't understand how physical they were.
Somehow vets think that playing streetball required more skill. I love football but anybody can run with a ball. Dribbling and shooting one not so much.
A lot of people don't mention this or either they have forgotten it or either is selective memory the Boston Celtics of the 70s and the 80s were the original Bad Boys meaning they played tough and dirty it wasn't till an all-black team aka the Detroit Pistons had been labeled by the media and marketed as the Bad Boys. Can I get someone to vouch for me on this one???
