JJ, ask Rondo about his time with the Mavs
Rondo was my favorite player on that Celtics team! And was a huge part of the 2020 Lakers championship
Any bulls fan could’ve seen that bulls team had no chemistry. D wade and butler were sending shots to their teammates to the press and rondo was calling them out for shitting on their own teammates.
he said it the chemistry wasnt there on the floor. bad spacing, good on defense but not that good on offense, injuries
Bulls could’ve gone to the ecf if rondo didn’t get hurt
That bulls team got me a lot of respect for Rondo as a laker fan.
There were reports of a divide in the locker room between the young players and Jimmy Butler/DWade, and Rondo took the side of the young players and vehemently defended them and their growth to the two vets. That level of leadership is VITAL to a functioning team
Rondo is my favorite pure PG hands down. Smooth quick layups, getcha 15-20 assists, nail one or two clutch threes, a few steals… every once in a while, a monster dunk. Always a chance to win when he was on the court.
Still my secret weapon glue guy in 2k… he can turn any big into Shaq.
Because none of them are reliable three point shooters
Fred Hoiberg was not the guy to handle their personalities
No shooting
Because the last year of D.Wade's prime was 2011, and being a player whose greatness was in part based on how athletic he was, he was really just a role player by 2016. End of story. All the interpersonal stuff doesn't matter if Wade is still 2008 form and running and dunking on everybody alongside Jimmy's defense and aggressive scoring from the mid-range inward. It also doesn't matter that neither of them are three point shooters, since you can always surround them with shooters.
That explains why they beat the Lakers with Kobe and Gasol that year. 08'
Rondo broke his hand ✋ it was over from that point 👉
This would have been a great early 2000s pairing, but if you cant shoot now you arent going to succeed.
Rondo was a top 5 point guard but was never top 3. I could easily pick three point guards better than him in his prime such as CP3, D-Will and Tony Parker
Wade was washed up. Cmon man.
Rondo is probably more respected by nba fans than he realizes.
As a Celtics fan I hope number 9 hits the rafters, nobody should forget prime rondo was arguably as good of a point guard as there was at that time as far as impacting a game without a deep scoring bag, like occasionally he’d hit a three or a middy but you knew where he was going with the ball in his hands but you didn’t know what he was gonna do when he got there, plus playoff rondo was a different machine, he was a big reason for Boston almost beating Miami in 2011 or 2012
not enough spacing on that team
Mann i loved that bulls team. They needed one/2 more piece. If pau stayed it woulda been perfect. Then anotha piece on the bench

It worked when the coach stopped hoeing Rondo…that's why they were destroying Boston in the playoffs until Rondo got hurt
