> Imma throw a scenario out there, one that is fictional but could be rooted in reality if we look ahead a few months. Let’s say Oklahoma City is gangbusters to start the season. Let’s say they win like 60-something percent of their games through January where they’re sitting in the third or fourth seed in the Western Conference– which is not outrageous because, organically they’re going to grow.
> Chet Holmgren is gonna be really good. Lot of good players in Oklahoma City. Let’s say they’re sitting there and– Oklahoma City knows they can’t pay all these guys on their roster. They’ve got a surplus of young talent. They’ve got a surplus of draft picks. What’s to stop Sam Presti from saying, “You know what? Damian Lillard’s got 3.5 years left on his deal? Let’s go get him! Let’s put Lillard in a backcourt with Shai and with Lu Dort as the three man and let’s see how that works.”
> I think that’d be pretty damn good. Personally, I think Shai can defend two guards. Lu Dort is strong enough to defend threes and fours when he has to. You know, if you’re Portland, you’ve got to be thinking about that scenario or something like that in the next three or four months. Not like “Let’s get Lillard off the roster and take whatever Miami’s going to give.”
#Mock Trade:
**Oklahoma City receives:**
Damian Lillard
**Portland receives:**
– Cason Wallace
– Ousmane Dieng
– Aleksej Pokusevski
– Kenrich Williams
– Davis Bertans
– 2024 1st via HOU
– 2024 1st via LAC
– 2025 1st via MIA
– 2027 1st via DEN
– 3-4 2nd round picks
**Is this better than the rumored Miami package?**
**How far could a starting lineup of Damian Lillard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren go next season?**

No one wants lillard here. Including lillard 😂
Common sense lmao
Thunder winning 60% of its games as just teenagers, are probably what’s saying no to a dame trade. Who the hell needs a 34 yr old dame at that point.
Fuck that.
Because adding 2024 Dame at that price doesn’t move the needle enough if you are already in that position, especially considering the projected weaknesses of the roster.
Not enough ball to go around with Dame. Pass.
The fact that he’s a 33 year old ball dominant guard, who’s a defensive liability.
The thunder wouldn’t/shouldn’t trade Casen and ous by themselves for dame, not that he’s not worth that, but he’s not worth that to this thunder team with their goals and future
He’s not good for us? He’s gotten really overrated the last couple of years. I truly don’t understand where it’s come from
No
What??
Get this trash out of here. That’s a 4:1 overpay for OKC, not to mention a stupid motive for doing the deal, which has no basis in reality.
Is this better than the miami package…? Um 6 total FRPs… yeah
Lol. Lillard who is refusing to remain open to teams not in Miami is going to come play for a team he does not like… and OKC is going to mortgage their future assets for it? This is so dumb.
Chris Mannix is an absolute clown
Always love how *every* *damned* *scenario* involves this diarrhea of first round picks. And when that’s not enough, have some more second round picks!!
If the thunder has won 60% of their games, they don’t need Dame to magically get to 65%.
Eight picks, Ous AND Cason for a 34 yo prima donna? No thanks.
Reverse meme for “we got top guards at home”
Damian Lillard is not a particularly good fit for this team and that is far too much to give up for him.
Hard pass. Miami can have him.
I’ll take him off portlands hands if they throw in a couple of firsts for our troubles.
I’m sticking with what I have because they are winning 🫡 in Presti I trust
hell nah
If OKC is winning 60% of its games, why would you trade away your future, and one of the guys that is probably a significant factor in the teams success without needing the ball in Kenrich, all for a guy who’s going to take the ball out of Shai, Josh, and Dubs hands, who are in all likelihood playing very well if the team is that successful. It makes no logical sense
It’s just not something that you’d really thing makes sense. OKC has already gone to great lengths to solve the issue of Shai and Giddey needing the ball. I don’t mean disrespect on Dame, but he’s an aging guard who’s ball dominant and a liability on defense. He’s going to be VERY useful on some actual title contenders this season, but I think what OKC should be angling for is a strong-elite two-way forward or an off-ball shooter who doesn’t need the ball if they want to make a blockbuster trade
Besides I think Dame would be pissed off if he got shipped here anyways
Dame coming here after his rivalry with Westbrook would be quite the plot twist
