HOT TAKE: if butler wins a chip & finals mvp, he will either surpass james as an all-time heat great, or be on the same level/tier as him as an all-time heat great.

It’s definitely up for debate. The east is far stronger now than it was then, and its obviously not gonna be seen as a fluke given that he’s already taken us to 2. He might not be putting up the Lebron stats, but to essentially accomplish the same end goal without the 3rd best SG of all time. I wouldn’t shut down the idea

I don’t think that’s a hot take. LeBron was at the peak of his career with multiple Hall of Famers surrounding him. When Jimmy wins the chip, he’ll be doing it on the wrong side of his prime, with a fringe HOF guy (no disrespect to Bam, love you) as his second option (and possibly another wrong side of his prime future HOFer if we get Dame). A Jimmy chip would be the hardest chip in HEAT history.

For me personally, Jimmy surpasses Lebron on an emotional level. Lebron aint close with the organization even though he learned how to win here. Jimmy all in with the culture here,

  4. No. Stop it. LeBron best stint was in Miami and he’s arguably 1st or 2nd best player to ever play.

I like Jimmy, but there’s Himmy and then there’s Him

But like who cares. Can’t we just celebrate two Heat legends instead of feeling the need to compare them all the time

  6. LeBron is the goat of this era and his championships don’t have the same emotional resonance that the 06 did. Jimmy is so much more ‘Heat culture’ than LeBron. One ring and he passes Bron.

For me he would be on the same tier as Bron if he wins a title & finals MVP. If he wins two he surpasses him

    Tier 1: Wade

    Tier 2: Bron, Jimmy(if he wins 1)

I don’t even know that he needs a finals mvp tbh. He already was the best player on 2 finals teams that had much less talent than Lebron did (not a shot at Lebron at all, I just think there is more emotional investment in what Jimmy has done. Lebron’s Heat run was & will always be incredible)

I know Lebron hurt us all when he took his talents away from near South Beach… but he is by far the greatest player to ever play for the Heat.

  10. Not a Heat fan but god this seems like a batshit crazy statement from the outside.
