  1. I see he's bias when comes to LeBron it's nobody fault he choked twice in his 2 Finals in 07&11 also he you mentioned he team up with another Top 3 in the league in DWade

  2. There is no such thing as winning bias. That term was made by stans who try to justify their favorite players being ranked high just based off skill & stats alone and not off the main goal of winning basketball games and getting a ring smh

  3. I generally like your analysis.
Unfortunately, with regard to this list, I have too many issues with objectivity. Here's why. I strongly suspect the NBA was fixed or slanted in some way between 2000-2006. It feels similar to the baseball records from the steroid era. I question many of the titles and records from those years. For example, I believe the Los Angeles Lakers were the beneficiaries of lopsided officiating in 3 series that literally changed the trajectories of many players. I also think there was something wrong with the officiating of Dwayne Wade in the 2006 series.
As a result, I diminish the accomplishments of many players. I also don't really give much credit to the Lakers 3 peat. Players that have inflated records because of that era include Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade. Players tarnished by that era include Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitski. Teams that were affected (some were changed completely) include the Kings, Timberwolves, Mavericks and maybe Portland.
For that reason, I think Dirk, Garnett and Duncan should be higher, and Wade and Kobe should be lower.
The problem with this is that it's all hypothetical. We don't have definitive proof of some of this (I think there is enormous evidence of shannigans in the 2002 Kings Lakers series…) and we can't go back and play the games. As a result, my analysis of this will always be fundamentally unfair.
Regardless, good job on your list. It's a hard job and you're the man to do it. šŸ˜€

  4. Mailbag question – Hi Jason. I've been watching basketball since 2010. Not many players during this time have had more of an impact on winning basketball games at the highest level than Rajon Rondo. Only guys I can think of at the top of my head since 2010 are Kobe, Lebron, Steph, KD, Giannis, Kawhi and jokic. Why don't you rate Rondo up there with the best of them?

  5. I skipped the last few videos but I realized at 11:51 we just don't look at the history of the game the same. Steph is literally my favorite player in NBA history and same plane as lebron? Or kd. Seriously? We are the same age we watched the same games. This why I have an issue because I'm questioning what games your watching. LeBron is literally just the consistent. Him and MJ. I'm not turning this into that debate but they were just night in night out unbelievable. This why I'm fine with ppl saying mj but to me it's lebron. I value his consistent dominance over the years more impressive. If I can see lebron is clearly the best player in the finals and they lose well idk ding him for it I guess. He's was consistently top 3 best player regular season/post season. Jordan was not. That's the difference. LeBron said it and I agree. Them coming back against that gsw team cemented it. And I'll always say this, people only bring up 6/6 finals but never say his play was better. Because over a full career it wasn't. That's why LeBron has the stats he has. HE EARNED IT. Dominance is consistently being in the finals. He's the common denominator. Also, even with the teams he faced, people still gave him a shot to win. Because he's just that much better than everyone else. That he can be 38 and still be a top 10 player. This long af but just tired of lies.

  6. So kevin durant is the best scorer even though jordan has triple the 40 and 50 point games??

  7. Biggest what if of KDs career is would he have won a title if he hadn’t gone to GS……..

  8. I think the problem people are having with your lists jason is that we know some of the players on your list aren't the best players but were in the best winning situation. A players situation doesn't dictate how good they are. And you rank using that variable. Winning is maybe the least important factor in comparing players and their skill. But everyone uses it as gospel and it doesn't ring true to what we see on the court. Like we all know tmac is a better player than chauncey billups but because he didnt win a chip never gets talked about. Maybe you could do a ranking list of most skilled nba players. I think that would be much harder and require actual research into watching games not just looking at past mumbers.

  9. I don't see him being 6th. He had all the talent on the OKC rosters and did nothing. He is a good player, but he is overrated. Hes skills are overblown. If Harden joined that GSW, he would have 2 rings. Maybe If I joined GSW I would have 2. I know that this list is for last 25 years, but some people have him in top 10 all time. Not sure if he is better then Barkley…

  10. Mailbag question: Jason do you do any training to specifically strengthen your calf/Achilles to prevent injury?

  11. Wow the MJ and KD fans are at each others throats…it’s a good day to be alive šŸ˜…

  12. James Harden cost them in the 2012 Finals, which is why he was traded. Please go back and look at James's stats, its quite funny. Bigger what if would be what if he didn't tear his achilles, KD and Steph might have won like the last 6 out of 7 championships.

  13. My favourite player all time. I feel like if that bucks series had gone differently we’d look at him a lot differently

  14. Mailbag question Did you watch even a single game of Kevin Garnet befoore 2005? I can tell you that Lebron had great teammates compered to KG in 2004 and 03 IDK how Minesota even made playoffs with that 11 win team with players who only could play on -10 NET raiting team or not be in league entirely That was the worst situation to be in. Imegine every all Star good player aeither dies gets injured or gets traded before they become good. How many championships would Lebron Have in that situation or MJ both would have 0

  15. If I have to guess the order since Jason is a Lebron fan which extends to being a Laker fan:
    1. Lebron
    2. Kobe
    3. Duncan
    4. Shaq
    5. Steph
He also said many times championships matters.
So Shaq and Steph under Duncan.

  16. To Mailbag Question #2: there’s a book called ā€œBasketball Position Metricsā€ by Rashad Phillips that breaks down the evolution of basketball positions and categorizes the original 5 positions into 12 detailed hybrid positions in each original position.

  17. Would you ever consider doing a top role player list? Robert Horry made so many big shots for these upcoming top 5 players' teams, Lakers and Spurs. We all know Kobe, Shaq, and Tim are in there.

  18. I think it’s madness to say Steph n Kd we’re on the same level in 17/18 they were probably on the same level offensively but Steph was a below average defender in that stage Kd was an elite defender…

  19. Predictions for top 5 in order:
    1. Lebron
    2. Duncan
    3. Steph
    4. Kobe
    5. Shaq

  20. What if kd didn’t join the warriors? Kd and curry’s legacy would be different.

  21. When I clicked this comment section knee jerk reaction was to say it was crazy to have KD as only number 6, but I was thinking yeah that’s almost certainly correct. Highest he could possibly possibly be would be 4 and that would be pretty unreal bias. Think this is right. W list again JT

  22. People always pin it as being jealous and never talk about when it's not. Even Jordan has talked about it being soft. …not short on money or notoriety.

  23. Mailbag question: if being 2nd-best on a championship team is so important, why isn't Kyrie Irving on this list?

  24. The real context is the current players are just building their game off of what came before them. LeBronā€˜s game would’ve been so different if he had played in the 80s because he would not have the knowledge of the 80s and 90s. He would’ve been a completely different player.
