[Noh] JJJ had one rebound in the second half. That makes one total rebound over his past two games. Team USA gave up 18 offensive rebounds in their loss to Lithuania

Call me old fashioned but I don’t see how a DPOY can be such a dreadful rebounder. Look at Dwight, Hakeem, Wallace etc. You need to be able to actually finish off the possessions with a stop otherwise forcing the first miss isn’t worth a whole lot.

  2. yerr2477

if you don’t bring a rebounding center to play next to JJJ that’s on coaching and scouting lol wtf are they doing. you can’t tell me nobody in the USA staff watched a Grizzlies game. “the guy who wasn’t a big rebounder in the NBA isn’t rebounding well” no fucking shit.

The main weakness of this generation of American players is definitely rebounding

Look at NBA rebounding leaderboards and see what country everyone is from

    Mostly it’s not the USA

It’s been a long fall from the days of Shaq, Duncan, and KG

  4. silverxsmoke

Jalen Duren would help with the rebounding

  5. nullstellensatz1

I think bringing Duren or Mitchell Robinson would have really helped Team USA. There are just no natural rebounders on the team.

JJJ also wasn’t complete ass this game. His defense in the second half was incredible, in spite of his poor rebounding. He got Valanciunas on a few offensive fouls that helped key the comeback.

We have to send our best players to these tournaments. We can’t skate by with the B or C team anymore.

  7. jusbolo2

Fouled out, he was in foul trouble in the Laker games that eliminated the Grizz too. Made it easy for AD.

  8. NeebTheWeeb

All I’m saying is Draymond Green wouldn’t have only 1 rebound

  9. ibeintheclublike

Should play more JJJ-Portis lineups. Bobby is a beast on the boards and JJJ can cover for Portis on D like Giannis/Brook do on the Bucks

For being 6’10, and the DPOY, JJJ is such a bad rebounder, he has such bad hands in terms of ball c9ntrol in the rebound. Your blocks are not a good defensive metric if it results to the opponent retaining possession. No wonder A.D ate his ass in the playoffs and showed what a true DPOY looks like . A.D has great hands, meaning he can block shots and at the same time catch the ball from the block or cleans glass if the is the biggest guy on the court.

A great defensive rebounder will always be better than a block artist.

He’s not a great rebounder in the NBA. Hes not suddenly going to turn into a great rebounder at the international level. Especially against JV.

  12. Can Andre Drummond join? Benefits his hof resume as well

Sorry for being late but I’m here to add my analysis:

    Is Jaren Jackson washed?

  14. Winlessta08

this is why Jokic leads the league in dpbm not JJJ.

  15. Dadecountyhooper

Can we put the Bam/JJJ discourse to sleep now. DPOY that can’t rebound or stop fouling.

American players are so soft. AAU ball has ruined the development of US basketball players. Without a systemic change we are going to continue to decline.

  17. Projinator

Why Kerr won’t run a JJJ/Kessler line up I’ll never understand.

Hali/Ant/Bridges/JJJ/Kessler would be a great line up

  18. 1 rebound in 2 games is so ridiculous that you’d think it was a made up stat from some hater online trying to start shit with Grizzlies fans

  19. jimdimmick

He’s not a center. This team has no center. It’s not his fault.

  20. Balls_of_Adamanthium

Can’t rebound at his position and also a fouling machine. But hey, he’s the most impactful defender.

  21. BerryStraws

Jokic’s defense is underrated. Rebounds matter

  22. Magazine_Mediocre

Not excusing the rebounding, but to be fair JJJ isn’t even a Center. They should have brought a real Center to this tournament. I blame these coaches thinking they can just small ball their way through this tournament. They got Kessler as backup but he’s not good enough yet to match up with the JVs of the world.

  23. enson110

I think Brook Lopez is more suitable for the usa national team

  24. CreativeSociety7

yea the grizzlies r never winning shit

  25. ArcherMcBatman

Perhaps he was too busy trying to get pictures of Spider-man

  26. Troll-e-poll-e-o-lee

So glad people are coming to the realization JJJ is hella overrated as a defender

  27. supremehat27

Why didn’t they go after Jarrett Allen? He’s a better rebounder than JJJ and can actually contribute on offense unlike Kessler.

  28. bluewaveassociation

    They defensive anchor Trae Young

  29. CantHandlemyPP34

This team needs to start another big or at least swap out Hart for Cam Johnson.
