What can Toronto Raptors fans really expect from Dennis Schroder this season? The German point guard has been ELITE at the FIBA World Cup and just helped his national team defeat the huge favorites in Team USA to get to the final of the competition. This elite play comes after another relatively average looking season for the player while playing with LeBron James and AD as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2022-2023 season. This play was rewarded by Masai Ujiri with a two-year contract with the Raptors, with Schroder’s experience playing with Darko Rajakovic at the Oklahoma City Thunder proving a driving factor.
Raptors fans were not overly thrilled about the decision to replace Fred VanVleet, who left for the Houston Rockets in free agency, with the German point guard but should they really start to feel more optimistic after the insane level Schroder is displaying at the FIBA competition? Huge for him, and great confidence builder. He's quicker than vanvleet, better first step and cuts more often, better off ball positioning too. Less ball dominant especially when touches are a concern for GTJ, O.G, Scottie and Pascal, with Gradey dick coming in too, cap hit is 1/4th of Vanvleet.
He’s not a downgrade to Fred. Even at the time of the transactions, I said it’s a lateral move at WORST. Dennis is a way better leader. Fred is a selfish player. He always has been. Dennis will fit this team way better then Mr bet on yourself. The only thing Fred can do better is the 3 ball, and even that was extremely close last year. Dennis is a better defender than Fred. A lot of people say Fred’s a good defender, not anymore. I think we will see fred have amazing games in Houston and a bunch of stinkers. I’m very happy we have Dennis here over fred.

Bang for your buck, Dennis is a way better add than the bum Fred. I think some people are blinded by f what Fred says. He talks a big game. I think over the last year he became a hinderance to all of the young players. Holding them back. That’s the last thing we need

Down grade? For the TEAM or as a individual? What is the priority? TEAM or self?
PG? Fred is a inefficient PG and toxic leader. An above average SG who can call the occasional play. Even in the championship year he was a inefficient off the bench PG. Last 2 series he played as a SG with the starters. Still riding on that success. Next year played SG with Lowery as PG. His last two years as a starting PG he was crap! Inefficient ball hog! Leading a losers team with loser play!
Dennis is a true PG. A good solid off the bench PG! A leader.
Scottie Barnes a lottery 4th overall PG. ROTY everything else. Wait tell this year when he back on track.

You’re such a bandwagon … when FVV left and raptors signed Schroder … you constantly said FVV is almighty and Schroder sucks, management messed up, Schroder is nothing near FVV blah blah … now you’re all for Schroder 🤦🏻♂️ … Jacob, NEVER EVER say again that FVV is better than Schroder … Schroder just danced around the entire team USA roster !!!
