Wow multiple teams? They gotta be FRP

  2. smoltanboi

i mean it makes sense. teams can basically buy picks in exchange for eating kpj’s $16m salary. the optics are so bad, though.

  3. mMounirM

no way it’s more than one 1st rounder.

either one 1st and multiple 2nds

or maybe just a bunch of 2nds

edit: Shams says several 2nd round picks

Calling it porter and 2 seconds to the spurs for McDermott

  5. 0dias_Chrysalis

Teams can get firsts for this then dump him lol

If you want free assets, go to the Rockets

  7. Ronnie2kDropCode

Probably the Knicks for Fournier tbh

I understand the idea of using Porter’s contract to salary match.

But I don’t understand why Houston thinks they’re in a good position to be trading away draft capital for immediate help.

  9. KryptoNike007

FYI in the video he specifically states that we are only dealing 2nd round picks

2nd rounders for this nutcase??? Not worth it

  11. Can an NBA team keep him on the roster pending investigations. And actually keep the 16M for him being suspended and get free picks and that cash on top?

  12. pelliesbruv

Hilarious. This is what they do with Catholic priests.

A team picking up 2-3 second round picks for KPJ is something they’ll absolutely be willing to do. They could then use those picks to make another deal down the line. I wonder if that team keeps KPJ on the roster as salary ballast in another deal although they’d of course be pressured not to.

I do agree with others that I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the Rockets are forced to part with a first rounder. $16M dead money is a lot.

Regardless, I think it’s pretty clear KPJ isn’t taking the court anytime soon in the NBA.

  14. Is he not owed 15m for the next 3 seasons ? Which teams are willing to eat that unless that picks are really good

  15. shouldn’t the rockets wait to see if ime is even good? or if adding two chuckers to their team will improve them? or wait to see if those youngsters actually turn in to stars before trading away what limited picks they have?

if the rockets somehow trade a 1st round pick on this, they might have the dumbest gm in the league

  16. JaNotFineInTheWest

Where he going to play? In prison? Is the NBA also the Prison Champions of what?

  17. Work your Magic Dany A. – Reel those picks in!

I don’t think you need to Shams.

With the thirty-second pick of the NBA draft, the United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum Facility (USP Florence ADMAX) selects…

  20. drjisftw

Depending on the picks involved, Indy has a few vets they could offload.

TJ McConnell, Daniel Theis, Buddy Hield. I’m not saying that I’m 100% for it, but I’d be interested to see potential trades.

  21. pendletonskyforce

I thought his contract had clauses that would make it void if he did something like this?

  22. californiaboy313

Sam Presti is going to some how get picks for Davis Bertans

  23. electricHats75

They’re giving up draft picks to get rid of him? Just cut him

  24. Visual_Ambition_6246

No team should trade for this alleged Woman beater until the case has come to justice. The Rockets should be stuck with him and his drama until the case is settled and the league determines punishment.

  25. There’s something real scummy about trying to leverage something of value out of a situation wherein a woman was beaten and strangled to the point of a broken vertebrae.

  26. Doomdoomkittydoom

I’m imagine an NBA team taking custody of KPJ and keeping him like Hannibal Lecter, wheeling him onto to court in a straight jacket and muzzle strapped to a dolly at the start of the game.

  27. theAlphabetZebra

It would have to be a team with a useful veteran, on a similar contract, who they feel is overpaid, who would take the bag of 2nds to cut/cash out Porter for us. That may be like 2-3 guys MAX in the league.

  28. Mygaffer

If we are talking Rockets firsts with no or only very lightly protections sign me up.

Then keep him away from the team and waive him once allowed by whatever ruling the NBA makes.

  29. Putrid_Ad_2256

    I wouldn’t trade a port-a-potty for him.

  30. belizeanheat

What’s the point of a trade here. Is he only in trouble as a member of the Rockets?

  31. So basically he is done?

Whoever is going to take him will just waive him and eat the guaranteed $$$?
