Trade scenario with 76ers

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/damian-lillard-trade-rumors-trail-blazers-will-only-engage-76ers-if-tyrese-maxey-is-available/

TLDR:

Philadelphia 76ers get: Damian Lillard, Terance Mann, Norman Powell and Robert Covington

Portland Trail Blazers get: Furkan Korkmaz, Tyrese Maxey, Jaden Springer, Nicolas Batum, Amir Coffey, Marcus Morris Sr., 2028 and 2030 first-round picks (from LA Clippers)

LA Clippers get: James Harden and Tobias Harris

Love how CBS just takes ESPN’s content a day later like it’s news

This is stupid. I’m sure maxey would be flipped just like Tyler Herro but Maxey probably has a bit more value in a 3 team deal. How does the National media not understand we don’t need more guards. It’s so obvious with just the quickest glance at the roster.

One of the worst trade posts I’ve seen lately

    1. Deplorable trade

    2. Clippers aren’t giving up all that for Harden, 0 chance they give up any unprotected picks

    3. Maxey’s a guard about to get overpaid

    HARD PASS

Again, the only way the Sixers are getting involved is if their team completely implodes and Embiid wants out.

At which point we’re not trading Dame, we’re trading to put Embiid next to him.

As much as I would love to see Batum back with the Blazers, this trade includes 4 guards and 2 old ass forwards,… **are you fucking kidding me?!**

This reporter should be fired ^(into the sun)

Blazers don’t need more guards, trading Dame leaves the Blazers with 3 outstanding guards still. Why tf would the Blazers want Maxey? They’d have to flip him like they would with Herro. Sometimes I think these dogshit trade rumors/scenarios are being pushed into the media by Dame’s agent covertly, to get ‘em conditioned to accept a dogshit trade for Dame.

If Maxey goes to another team and we get a young wing like trey Murphy or Sohan, then I’d do it.

Normally I wouldn’t believe this rumor but it does involve us wanting more guards, sooooo…

  9. The same Nicholas batum that is going to retire? Assume that’s a contract cleansing move? Boy this sounds just so not thought out

Dumb trade at face value but there are some more intriguing elements for sure. The only guaranteed money we’d be bringing back beyond 23/24 is Coffey on like 4mil. Those clipper picks have every chance to be very valuable trade chips by 26-27 (trust their asset quality a lot more than Miami’s) when our core is ready to make a splash trade.

This deal would just hinge on some other team really valuing Maxey and being willing to give up a significantly better return than Herro. Whether that’s good 1sts or a young wing/big of a higher quality than Jovic and Jaquez to add to the new core.
I do think Maxey, especially with his unique salary implications atm, has more value around the league than Herro or Ant. But as it stands this trade idea is just incomplete.
