  1. gil’s just jealous he cant get 50k a session

Olujawon charges what the market allows. He’s about that I-won’t-lace-up-my-sneakers-for-less-than-$50k life and I love that for him. Gil couldn’t charge 10% of what Olujawon charges most likely.

And I wish Gil realized that calling his predecessors “old” doesn’t make him seem young to upcoming players. Olujawon’s knowledge is clearly still valuable to multiple generations of players.

Olajuwon used to do this for free. Something went wrong.

My guess? He got slammed with so many requests, that probably felt people weren’t valuing his time and/or the people he did decide to work with, didn’t take it seriously enough and implement what they learned during the season.

$50,000 just seems like a natural filter to get those guys who are serious about improving their game by working with him. $50k isn’t much to millionaires, but it is a lot to those who won’t value his time. $50k is just enough skin in the game to pay attention.

With Clients like Kobe, Melo, and Bron who came to do this workout, it sounds like a pretty fair price.

I grew up watching the Dream. If I got NBA paychecks,I will pay 50 k just to eat fried chicken and watch Oppenheimer with him.

Plus 50k ain’t that much without NBA checks, if Yao is on board with hanging out with me for a day for 50k say next week, I might just say fuck it and do it, then apologize to the wife later.

  6. noplaceinmind

I made it through a minute and 20. That’s my self torture for the day.

  7. Inverse_wsb22

If he patented his dream shake he would make $80 million a year.

Arenas is a fraud he charged hundred million dollars for nothing wizards and lizards remember

  8. DrRockySF

Hakeem get the money you weren’t able to get back in the day. Arenas is a bum. Wouldn’t pay 50 cents for his clinic

  9. StubbornKindOfFellow

The average US salary is 60K a year.

The average NBA salary is 9 million per year.

50K to a 9 million salary is equivalent to $334 to a 60K salary, just to put it into perspective.

Gilbert pissed the main thing he’s known for is being an assh*le. The one thing he could teach players, shoot from 35 ft., ain’t nobody going to him for.

Stop calling out the big homie for getting his paper. U don’t want smoke with the most honorable player of all time. Dude spent all that money on mosques and charitable ventures.

  11. caulpain

what giving dwight howard a free workout does to a mf

  12. yOw_indahOuse

The Washington Wizards blast Gilbert Arenas for stealing checks totaling $111 million for not playing.

  13. There’s probably 5 big men in the league who get to hold the ball long enough to actually use any of the dream’s post moves. I can see it being useful for guards trying to break out of the 3 and D mold

  14. pointguard22

that’s funny, but why’s he in a footlocker?

  15. Fladap28

Ru kidding me, I see absolutely no problem with this whatsoever

  16. guitarpatch

You’re getting his time and energy. He can charge if he wants

  17. ActualAdvice

If I was retired, you’d have to pay me a lot to come into work too.

Gil just jealous no one will pay him that.

  18. When you consider what these guys are making it is nothing for one weeks worth of practice. 50k for people making 10M is peanuts, let alone 20M-40M

  19. thescottreid

Someone ask Shaq how much he would charge a professional basketball player to do a private workout? He’d laugh and say, “only LeBron can afford it and he doesn’t need it.”

  20. Chemistry_Lover40

If I were playing I would pay for that, he’s a legend and that’s cheap for a millionaire.

Gil making an ass of himself

  21. How much does Arenas charge for teaching locker room ethics?

  22. ponder_grace

All I saw was “arenas blasts Olajuwon” and my heart sank. Thanks for that Gilbert.

  23. RVAIsTheGreatest

Valuable lessons don’t come for free.

  24. makashiII_93

Two time champion. Man can charge whatever he wants, if he wants to charge.

I’m obviously biased. Hakeem’s not the guy you should go after Gil.

  25. AljoGOAT

$50k to learn from the most unique post player in nba history. Seems like a steal

  26. lol the way he talks about money makes you think he’s doing all this podcasting shit for free. lol, great basketball mind but I ain’t taking business advice from a fool who brought guns into a DC locker room.

  27. Saucy_Totchie

Gil should mind his own damn pockets lol. Probably just mad the most valuable lesson he’s taught other players is how not to run your career. Olajuwon can charge whatever he wants and if people are paying that’s on them. Seeing as contracts right now for solid to good role players are at around $15-20M and superstars are getting $40-50M+ that seems like a deal.

  28. Mrxblonde

both kobe bryant and bron greatly benefits from training with him. this is just shock value stuff from gilbert and not very rational imo

  29. Medic7802

“My mom always said if your good at something, don’t do it for free!”

  30. iamnotkobe

    Olajuwon’s net worth is 300mil,
Charging 50 grands for a lesson with him seems reasonable and slight undercharged , why is Gilbert upsets?

He envy The Dream coz no one interests to learn from his shooting skill?

  31. RunThePnR

It’s probably cause his podcast prob ain’t making 50k a session. So he jealous

  32. JebronLames619

Agent Zero yaps a lot for a guy that swindled the Wiz for $111 Million to play 2K from the comfort of his couch

  33. $50k to a bunch of millionaires is pretty fair. Low even.

  34. Cultural_Biscotti_21

Given what Hakeem does for the community, he can embezzle whatever the fuck he wants from the rich. Gil only cares about his pockets. NBA Cares never changed that.

  35. Gilbert just hating he can’t get charge the same

  36. ic3mango

Gilbert only mad cuz no-one’s going to him for a workout.
