  1. Hello everyone. I recently brought up the Damian Lillard news given it's gotten a lot more headway in the last few days.

Ultimately Miami wants to acquire Dame for the least amount of assets. Unfortunately they don't have the draft capital Portland wants and they have some lengthy contracts in Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson that aren't appealing to them as a rebuilding team. More importantly they already have Scoot Henderson Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe so Tyler Herro coming to Portland has never been a possibility.

So the problem is figuring out how to create a multiple trade deal that satisfies all parties….

But it's really hard to not see Brooklyn playing some role in this deal given they have a loophole 2025 Suns first round draft pick and some expiring contracts to acquire someone back in this blockbuster deal to add to their future….

Ultimately if Brooklyn isn't involved it doesn't hinder their future. But if they somehow do get involved they could add another important piece to their new core going forward….. So let's see what happens….

  2. Also Tyler Herro isn't the only player that could be valuable to Brooklyn if they were a part of this deal as well.

Anfernee Simons and Caleb Martin are two players who could be traded to Brooklyn for a mix of draft capital and expiring contracts being sent back to Miami and Portland….

Simons is a very sound scorer with a lot of good fundamentals and could immediately contribute off Brooklyn's bench as a potential sixth man candidate and could eventually work his way to a starter role in Brooklyn.

More importantly Simons could be another great building block to add to the core of Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton.

Caleb Martin as well is a hard worker and an underrated player who can add a scoring punch off the bench and fits the culture….

  3. But still I find it hard to see The Boston Celtics Toronto Raptors Utah Jazz OKC Spurs or the 76ers take on Tyler Herro as a third team in this blockbuster deal. OKC and the Jazz probably want to save their assets for a way bigger name on the market whereas Boston Philly and Toronto are going through new changes and some turmoil.

Brooklyn feels like the best team to acquire Tyler Herro where he can become part of the main core with Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton and form a solid squad. Or Tyler Herro comes to Brooklyn on a short term deal to build up his value more and potentially use his contract as a big trade chip with their draft picks to make a big trade move down the line when they are ready to contend again….

That's something Brooklyn has probably thought about and it will be interesting to see where Tyler Herro ends up after this deal is done….

  4. But to Claude and some others who want Brooklyn to be bystanders in this blockbuster deal and hold all their assets to next season when bigger all star players will be available that's a GREAT option as well…..

Giannis Joel Embid Donovan Mitchell Luka Doncic Trae Young and Karl Anthony Towns could all be available after next season…

Ultimately the two all-star players who Brooklyn will definitely have their eyes on are Giannis and Donovan Mitchell.

Giannis has all the defensive skills and a powder keg of an offensive skillset and would become the number one option with Mikal Bridges as a strong secondary option. Johnson and Claxton become even more integral pieces as well. Defensively that squad could become very fierce in the league.

Then there is Donovan Mitchell who has that next level elite type of offense that could take over the league and he would be surrounded by a strong defensive core of Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton 🔥…

Those are the two players Brooklyn would consider going all in on and it will be very exciting to see how those storylines play out next season….

  5. Maybe crazy? But with all the off season hype about Ben being back to form, combined with Dame and Mikal’s friendship. Who says no?

  6. I admire Joe Cronin's way of handling Dame's "request" for a trade. Make the Heat and Dame sweat a little before he clean the Heat out of a boat load of assets. It'll serve the Heat right for their aggressive pursuit of Dame and Dame for wanting out after signing a contract extension. No one walks away from this smelling like roses.

  7. The Nets shouldn't get involved in the Trailblazers trade as a third party just to acquire Herro. We're into saving money and more importantly, developing our own. No way we're getting rid of Dinwiddie before we know how Ben is going to perform. Even if Ben come back playing like the all star of yesteryear, I think it would be unwise to give up Dinwiddie and a 1st round draft pick for Herro.

  8. Is definitely Philly. I've been listening to blazers podcast – problem with Philly is do they still don't want to give up Maxey in the trade – Miami doesn't want to overpay for dame They feel like they have the best package but Portland wants more

  9. Dame’s age and dollars remaining on his contract makes it very hard to move him. If I were Philly, there is no way I’d give up Maxey for Lillard. I wouldn’t even think about it.

  10. Personally, I like the Nets exactly as they are right now. I really want to see them make the most of what they have right now and keep their draft picks to build on that.

  11. I’d be surprised if he the Nets are at this point after everything they’ve done still be in on the Lillard deal in any iteration. I could see if it’s stretched out to December 15 when new free agent signings like Cam Johnson can now be traded or at the last trade down deadline but I don’t know about before the camp. Besides their future draft picks, they simply don’t have the player trade assets. That would be enticing besides Nic Claxton, and Mikal Bridges, who for me, are off-limits.
There is also the issue of the repeater tax do the Nets want to go there when they can spend this year resetting that?

I’d want to push out any trades till December 15 so I can assess the roster maybe Ben Simmons by then has recouped some of his trade value maybe cam Johnson value raises a little bit, maybe cam Thomas balls out and now you have some really good pieces to trade.

  12. The Heat need the trade for Dame more than the Trailblazers need to make it. The Heat need Dame because they're in a win now mode and they need Dame to make it work. If they don't get him, it could, potentially, derail their chance of making some noise next season. The Trailblazers are rebuilding and there's no urgency to trade Dame. If the Trailblazers are willing to endure the negative press on how they're handling this, that'll bode well for them in the long run.

  13. Aside from the Miami Heat, the Brooklyn Nets are the most logical choice. Unlike many Eastern Conference teams, the Nets have a significant gap at the point guard position. However, the Nets won't pursue a substantial trade like this unless they can find a way to unload Ben Simmons. Trading Simmons alongside acquiring a top-tier player like Lillard would deplete their assets since it would require extra pieces to involve Simmons in any trade. Therefore, for now, we're left with the anticipation and hope for the upcoming season.

  14. In my opinions, I like Dame Dolla but I will save my draft picks for a big name superstars in the future. He is getting older and injury as well with his bad contract. * cough * cough Giannis is my target if I with the Nets organization

  15. I strongly believe that Dame will be traded prior to the season kickoff. Portland can't afford to keep him while they search for the ideal trade package, as there's substantial risk in beginning the season with him on the roster. In the unfortunate event of Dame getting injured while playing for Portland, it would be a major setback and disastrous for Cronin. Portland's perceived leverage isn't as strong as they think, with a majority of the NBA already having their point guard positions filled, and Dame will be older with a $63 million contract in the final year. Despite all the negotiations, I believe Dame will indeed be traded before the start of the season, and the most likely destination appears to be Miami.
