  1. most fake hype trade ever, Portland doing all this just to send him to Miami anyways

  2. LovetheNBA23

Miami and Portland execs just need to get a room and hash this out. It’s about damn time.

  3. sstewart1617

No crap. He’s a 33 yr old pg who has averaged <60 games in the last 4 years and has a MASSIVE contract (when he plays he’s spectacular though).

It takes a certain type of team that is willing to stomach paying a PG 63 million at 37, and of those teams only a handful are in a position to win now AND none of them have amazing assets. To further complicate it, he’s clear about only wanting to be in Miami.

Why would anyone shell out Rudy Gobert style assets for him?

  4. Mister_Mangina

I implore people not familiar with the Portland media market to stop reposting Fentress. He is one of the least respected Portland media members.

  5. ycyc7339

It’s cuz he’s old. Too little, too late

  6. Arooooooooooooooo

Yeah no shit. Bradley Beal salary dump basically tanked the market for big contracts.

  7. StanleyStutters

    33 years old

Due $45M+ for the next two years

Has stated once or twice he only wants to play for one team.

Can’t imagine why Portland has no leverage

  8. CommunicationMain508

no way a guard on the wrong side of 30 with a massive contract and is a defensive turnstile, isn’t that highly valued. R/NBA told me otherwise

  9. Acrobatic_File_5133

Damn, it’s almost like they waited until he was past his physical prime and until every other GM in the league knew he wanted out.

Suns/Brad Beal situation laid the blueprint on how these types of situations will play out in the future.

Yes in a vacuum Dame would not get a Giant return anyways. Add to the fact that He demanded Miami so no other team has incentive to blow Miami offer out of water. And add that Portland waited till everyone was less flexible and WHEW.

  11. iCOULDbewr0ng

Should’ve traded his ass like 3-4 years ago if they wanted to maximize their return

The teams who are down to go all in don’t have the assets to make a satisfactory trade for Lillard. The teams that have the assets to make a satisfactory trade for Lillard don’t want to go all-in Lillard because they aren’t championship contenders now and your window with Lillard is now. Not to mention the fact that the PG position is stacked and a lot of contending teams have their PG and so trading for Lillard would just be an upgrade.

  13. Most contending teams either don’t have the assets to trade for him, or already have a really good young PG that they’re very happy with.

Teams that don’t have the asset are a couple years away from trading for a player like Dame.

This isn’t Rocket science, the Blazers fucked up holding onto him for too long. If they tried to trade him last season they could’ve gotten the Nuggets to at least think about trading Murray for Dame.

  14. Piss_Sage

Shocker. And for months anyone on this sub who said this is how things would turn out was downvoted to hell. Idk why people were convincing themselves that the league owed the Blazers a favor for holding the guy 2 years too long and now wanting to correct their pat mistakes. Train left the station years ago and Blazers FO is running around with their ticket in the air still.

  15. Hed be good for the spurs if he was willing to play & stay.

  16. TheRealMaka

Influx of worthless updates….gotta love it

  17. NaLu_LuNa_FairyPiece

Why would anybody want a 33 year old

  18. IntroductionNearby71

Dame has fucked portland so hard man smh

  19. Everyone is looking for the Gobert haul thanks to the dumbass Minnesota FO.

  20. TrashAssRedditAdmins

Blazer fans arent gonna like reading this

  21. c2darizzle

It’s in 2k you fools. Stop fighting and let it happen already 😌

  22. Sequel_P2P

it’s baffling that people thought for a second that Joe Cronin was in any way, for any amount of time, a step ahead of Pat fucking Riley lol

  23. jfan2024

I think Portland has significantly overvalued Lillard and should be over the moon Miami is willing to give up as much as rumored.

I really think a year from now, Dame is going to be borderline free get for anyone who wants him as a salary dump as teams hoard their assets for Giannis, Embiid, and Luka instead. Dame will be a 34-year-old making in the neighborhood of 3/175MM, resulting in him being an afterthought.

  24. SFWzasmith

Just make the Miami trade. Your offers aren’t getting better and Dame is a declining asset. They should have traded him a year ago and let’s be serious this is the best deal that they’re going to be able to make.
