That’s about as good as one could realistically expect, I’d say. Ayton is just a better fit with the young core than Nurk. Dame gets his wish and we get a flyer on a couple decent young prospects and some pics. Can’t complain too much, personally.

I like it, I think JJJ is a decent prospect at SF and Ayton could be very solid with a coach who believes in him.
Scoot/Sharpe/JJJ/Grant/Ayton would be an Uber athletic core with tons of potential and switch ability on D.

Are we sure Ayton is that valuable ? Like he has under performed his potential pretty substantially since the 2021 playoffs. He clashes with a unanimously loved coach in Monty, he pouts about touches, and hasn’t developed as a scorer in the ways people thought he would. Idk he doesn’t seem like a winner long term. Hope I’m wrong and he’s good on defense sometimes, could be a good PnR partner with scoot if he’s willing to not post up as much.
