[Shams] Free agent G/F Lamar Stevens has agreed to a deal with the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Stevens established himself as a defensive presence for the Cavs, starting in 25 of 62 games last season. Agent Scott Nichols completed deal with Celtics officials.

This is who I wanted when he got cut earlier this offseason.
Not much to his offense but his defense and hustle are impressive. His offensive rebounding is a big reason we lost that game earlier in the season, he kept getting in there against our tired legs.

Anyone who watched our games against Cleveland last year know he’s scrappy and can rebound
I think he’s a great end of bench guy for us. Has proven that he can defend at NBA starter level. Basically close to a zero on offense but we have others who can handle that end of the court.
Probably not playable in the playoffs because defenses will ignore him, but he can absorb a ton of regular season minutes and save the Jays from having to defend the best players on the opposing team all the time.
There is much better wing depth on the team than what was available in previous seasons. Hopefully, it leads to better results

I like the add. I just don’t get not adding Oubre. He’s the best player out of all these dudes they signed. They are still missing a wing that can actually score off the bench. Most of these wings they have are defensive minded and aren’t great on offense

Brissett and Steven’s are a little redundant together but you can never have too many versatile wings. Love this.
