no matter how this situation turns out, Cronin looks bad. he will be on the hot seat unless Portland at least makes the second round with or without Dame. I mean, Toronto at least embraced the rebuild once Derozan and Lowry got split up.

All sides are lying. Miami likes fleecing teams and Cronin is smart to go for non Heat trades also. He is calling your bluff.
I don’t trust Cronin or Dame or NBA reporters. They all have an agenda. Dame signed a two year Supermax extension and now wants a trade. That isn’t loyalty. He wants his money and then not be loyal because he knows he can’t get a chip in Portland.

I thought you were going to have some breaking news for me. Well, I got some news for you. It looks like Dame will be taking his talents to Canada. The Heat had all summer to put something together decent for Dame but The Godfather just doesn't seem to want Dame very badly. We have to get something straight here, Dame burned his loyalty bridge when his agent(per Dame's request I assume) went public with Dames demands. The Blazer organization now doesn't care where they send Dame they only care about getting assets and the best wins. As far as Dame throwing a tizzy fit about going to Toronto, let me remind you Dame will be under contract for four years with the Raptors just like he is for us now. He can cry himself to sleep every night but if he wants his $220 million he will show up and play. Adam Silver will be watching his every move closely. Let me also remind you Kahwi didn't want to go to Toronto but they took him anyway and the rest was history. Now for the details. Toronto gets Dame, Suns get Nurkic and Grant Jr. and the Blazers get Ayton, OG and Porter Jr. plus a pick or two. Supposedly they are putting the paper work together and will announce Friday. How about that for a fast rebuild. Go Blazers !
I think the Raptors got the message that Dame simply won't play for them. I think he won't care about fines at that point. Dame is coming to Miami one way or another in my opinion.
