KAT Trade Idea from a Pro-KAT Fan

I’m not typically in favor of trading KAT away, but under the new CBA I get the rationale given how his contract would limit our flexibility. Would something like this deal be one that you’d be open to?

I just never want to trade KAT. He’s the kind of player I feel should stay with the Wolves forever. He’s shown nothing but loyalty and Grit for us man. Worse comes to worst I’d sooner just ride out hid contract and resign him for a smaller deal if it came to that. But I never want to see him go so you could give me the most intelligent and business savvy deal ever and it’d still be a no from me LMAO. I know I’m biased, which is why I could never successfully run a team I owned man. I’m too attached to not only him as a player but him as a person. He’s a great leader and role model for an NBA team.

We will have the worst offense in the league

At this point in time I am only trading KAT for a PG of the future, much like Sabonis for Tyrese. Hield and Turner are not bad but having to re-sign Hield doesn’t sound like a fun adventure and I don’t think Turner is nearly as successful defensively next to Gobert.

If we are going this far, I don’t think it’s for a deal that also leaves us with 2 starting centers plus Naz

Add in Andrew Nembhard and I’d do it.

We could use Hields shooting, and he could be moved later on for another pick.

This would probably force us to trade Gobert almost immediately, and that could get messy, but I think teams like Hornets and Mavericks should have interest.

However, I just don’t see Pacers doing this. After the Obi Toppin trade, their team is basically setup around having a shotblocking stretch 5.

I only support this because it increases my odds in life of building a lego set with Myles Turner.

What it does for the team; I will not comment on at this time.

I don’t want to trade KAT, especially in a package that doesn’t give us a great PG, but it’s nice to actually see something that isn’t totally fleecing us in favor of stacking a coastal team.

  8. I’d question a Turner/Rudy pairing just as much as KAT/Rudy. If we moved KAT, I’d like an actual PF or a PG. Buddy’s whatever. Keep him around as a flamethrower off the bench or ship him for draft capita.

At this point and time, best option is looking like to just keep KAT. No piece/pieces available is gonna helps win this season more than him.

What a terrible trade lmao. Salary dumping Karl is not the answer unless all you care about is ducking the tax. A trade like this would basically be pushing Ant to LA/Miami/NY.

  10. As a non KAT fan I would say no. If I’m trading KAT it’s to get younger and to get a guard. If Buddy Hield was 24 I’d feel a little differently about this proposal.

Most teams have proven to not really care about the new CBA, so we need to stop with that talking point. Indiana is not trading Myles Turner point blank, they had the option for several years and never pulled the trigger, stop putting him in trade theories. Lastly, 2 FRP’s from a team that was already 4th in the Eastern Conference before injuries ruined their season, then adding KAT to their team, is simply not worth what KAT is valued at internally or externally.

So the same deal as the proposed Westbrook trade from last season? But instead of the Lakers bundling 2 picks to get rid of Westbrook, we get two firsts to trade kat. Interesting, but considering those contracts are done soon and they’re not gonna be here long term I don’t love it.

No, if you trade KAT you don’t do it to continue the two bigs experiment

  14. Aggressive-Depth-526

I’d say no. I don’t like trading away the best player in a trade for 2 pretty good players. Plus, Turner and Gobert would be an even worse fit.

i would take Nembhard instead, re-direct Turner to Dallas and take on THJ’s contract + whatever picks the mavs can give us

If we’re trading KAT we need to get back a big wing or a PG.
