How do you overvalue an All-Defensive NBA player that also plays a position of need? On top of that, I REALLY don’t think Portland would keep him. If I were Cronin I’d snatch up OG then trade him at the deadline for a nice haul that you couldn’t get with Tyler Herro.

If Herro is so valuable then why don’t the Heat make a separate trade using him to get more assets?

  2. Bigburrbike

Well he is close to a free agent and wants near max money. I didn’t know about his injury history

  3. thenextburrito

Herro literally just missed the whole playoffs with a hand injury.

Even if Portland overvalued OG and undervalued Herro, even if Herro goes onto an all star type career (not impossible, but not likely either player does) it still doesn’t matter. The thing is, even if everyone in the world thinks the Miami deal “is better than perceived”, that is Portland’s decision. It’s what THEY want. Doesn’t matter how anyone else in the world feels how good the offer is.

seriously who cares what this guy thinks?

It’s like all the Heat fans are stuck in a bubble together and can’t figure out why nobody agrees with them.

May I interest you in this fecal sandwich?

That’s the point. POR could actually have a need for OG, or he could bring back more value than Herro.

It’s worth noting that OG becomes extension eligible on October 1st. His eligible extension is 4/116.9. I can’t help but wonder if part of the timing right now is about that.

If the deal included OG with a four year extension, then I absolutely think he’s part of the future, and a very valuable asset. He’s only 26, and still has upside.

If Portland is undervaluing Hero, then the Heat should have no issue finding a 3rd team to yield an acceptable return. Now STFU with the gaslighting.

You’re not getting a haul for OG at the deadline unless you extend him first.

This almost feels like tampering at this point…

Barry fucking Jackson…I learned real quick with the Dame situation that not only are there a lot of insufferable Heat fans, but equally insufferable Miami sports reporters.

All that said, even with his injury history there is a market for OG. As talented as Herro is, there doesn’t appear to be a market for him.

And as us Blazer fans all know, we don’t want to have a guard added to the roster…we want a young defensive wing.

If Herro was so valuable, we would have already traded Simons for a stack of assets.

Scoot-Sharpe-OG with Simons backing up the G positions is such a sick backcourt. Could be the best in the NBA in 4-5 years.

On this team Herro is a backup or they are playing undersized. OG on the other hand can play all minutes at either forward position. He is strong enough to some spot minutes at C.

Everyone wants an OG because he can play all but the PG position. Herro is a combo guard.
