It’s been up for a minute – where are my EarthWarping notes?!

edit: 2 minutes now. What has happened to this great sub we had

    Paraphrased notes:

    >It’s been a slow build on the Lillard stuff, seems to be peaking

    >Some question of whether he gets moved before training camp starts

    >They’re able to build a deal around young players that are established, have a good amount of draft capital they can bring to the table, compare it to a Miami or some of the other teams mentioned

    >Lillard’s agent is also DeMar’s agent, but that fence has been mended a bit

    >In the last week or so, what’s changed is it’s not evident there’s an easy/obvious way for Lillard to end up in Miami

    >If not in Portland, where can (Lillard) be? Grange thinks Toronto is an option

    >They are determined to be in on any opportunity

    >In the Lillard context, it’s not like the Raptors are saying “take anything you want, we want the player”, they are trying to calculate, can they be slightly better than the next best offer? It does improve their team by doing that

    >One of the things that has been consistent here (with the Raptors front office), is there isn’t much of an appetite to take 2-3 steps backwards to accumulate picks, to build up from the bottom, so if you’re not doing that and stuck in the middle, maybe it makes sense to pull a rabbit out of the hat

    >Zero appetite to trade Barnes in a deal, part of it is you’d have to trade 5 guys to make the money work

    >Doesn’t think anyone wants to take this to media day, a resolution one way or another

    >Bit of a warming effect going on with Lillard

no local Toronto reporters are even close to tier 1 NBA.

The Grange/Lewenberg/Doug Smith – i’m just going to tell you my instinct reporting, after the big tier 1 reporters break news.

“Bit of a warming effect going on with Lillard”

The wording is a little weird, but I assume it means he’s open to the idea/accepting the fact that theres a good possibility he ends up on a team other then the Heat.

If not that then it literally makes no sense lol

Cheap ass ownership doesn’t want to rebuild basically

  6. I do think Raps would need to outbid the best offer more than just slightly. If it was that close you figure the team would do right by Dame and just pick the slightly lesser offer so he can pick. I’m not saying substantially better but enough to force Dames hand and for Portland to justify it.

I should’ve asked Bobby when I saw him at work a few days ago
