I do agree that there needs to be a limit set to prevent from outbidding ourselves and looking like the Wolves with the Gobert trade.
But we don’t know what Miami has exactly offered as of yet so can’t tell if they’re being stubborn and lowballing or Blazers just wants everything Miami has to offer 🤷♂️
Dame is great, but we also need to retain some talent beyond Dame, Jimmy and Bam.
I’d love to get Dame, but we can’t get rid of everything for it. He has an albatross contract. If we got rid of all of our young talent plus all our picks we would be gutted for years to come. It might feel good for a season but then what? Let alone if we don’t make it to the finals or if someone gets hurt and it’s a wasted season anyway.
We’ve seen literally zero of any other offers. In fact the Heat offer of Herro and picks (plus other stuff) is the only solid offer that’s been reported. Why would we up our offer on nothing but speculation? Omg Portland MIGHT find another trade somewhere else better throw the farm at them. I say fuck that.

This is consistent with what I have been saying lol. The front office is not trying to cripple the team. A 33 yo undersized guard that doesn’t play defense on a huge contract is very much team crippling territory. If they can’t get a deal that allows the heat to keep some assets then screw it. We’ll hunt free agents and develop the talent we have. We don’t have the assets, running it back is our best option. And before you reply to this comment saying we can’t win as constructed. Pray tell, which team has won the finals without their leading scorer(2020) or 2nd leading scorer(2023)? We should always seek to upgrade but let’s cut the BS acting as if we know the limits of this team. The healthier team wins the finals and we have not been healthy. If we cut all our depth and one of our best players get injured again we’re not even making it of the ECF this time.
