I think Lillard only mentioned Miami because there was no bonafide star in the PG position. Imagine the hate from Brunson fans if you say "I wanna go to the Knicks" or Bucks with Jrue. Deep down he's happy with the Bucks.

Miami really lost their chance to become a serious contender. They need to take load off Jimmy. And they lost two starters. Go look at their salaries in the trade machine. They literally can’t get anyone without giving up significant assets now. And to give up significant assets, you must get something like a Dame in return. No more stars left. So unless you want to get harden and force him to get into peak condition, they’re kind of stuck. No chance to make any significant improvements now. To even get Jrue at $36M, they would have to give up Lowry and Martin, or herro and Robinson, or herro and Martin and one of jovic, Hampton, highsmith, or Richardson.
It’s not that easy guys. A lot of scenarios being proposed here doesn’t even work or make sense.
