This trade is what we needed as a fanbase. Everybody is glad this is over, agrees we got a reasonable deal, AND we still sent Dame to a team he wanted.
My requirements would be two 1sts and a young player (under 25). The Knicks or Celtics would be great for the Blazers! Heat need Jrue in the worst way, maybe we can extract something from them.
Poor Chauncey they wasted his last two years.

I think it's highly unlikely getting 3 firsts for Jrue at this point. If Portland could have abstracted 4 firsts from Miami and Jovic and Jaquez, why didn't they just do that?
Number one most important thing about trading Holiday is to get back someone of value for our front court 3's and 4's specifically.

In my opinion it was a genius trade from Cronin. We just need to trade Holiday wisely too.

Sorry bro, but nobody in their right mind would give you two 1st round picks for Harden's bum a$$! You'd be lucky to get 1, but even that is less likely!
There is a little bit of a misconception regarding the Ayton Deal. It can‘t be viewed separately without the Dame deal.
1. If Portland would have done the deal wirhout Milwaukee, they would have needed to match Aytons contract. Nurk, Nas and Keon would be one smaller contract short of matching the salary. So the Blazers would have needed to include Rupert, Walker and/or Murray to make it work. I don’t think they wanted to do that. They also wouldn’t have gotten Camara. And the deal also would mean we would have given away 4-5 players and still add 4-5 Millionen in salary. Don’t think we wanted to do that.
2. The Suns aren’t taking the deal without Allen. Maybe if we added Murray instead. So the Bucks actually provided real value in this deal.

I think the Warriors trade would be the best. Kuminga is a real athlete whos gotten better & better. Imagine Scoot pushing the fast break with SS17 on one wing with Kuminga on the other side. Kuminga would be loads of fun. By far the Dubs offer is the best for Portland. Maybe we could then trade CP3 & get sooomething for him. Gr8 video Bruh. 🦾👌🏾

if the blazers couldnt get 3 1st round picks for dame, no way are they able to get 3 1st round picks for jrue. At best 1 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick OR 2 1 1st round pick swap and 2 2nd round picks.

The Blazers went from guard heavy to front court heavy. Yes, you need to protect the center position, whether or not the starter was Nurk or someone else like Ayton. Unless, you have forwards play guard. We could use a backup point guard.
The other thing is whether we get players or picks for Holiday. How much does Murray and Camara play? Are we going to trade Grant now with Holiday or wait. We re-signed Knox who stinks and plays the same position as Grant, yet we want to trade Grant eventually. Knox was a dumb signing. We don’t need bad players or an unbalanced roster.
What about Skylar Mays as a backup point guard? What about Rupert? Does he play?
Should we keep trading players like Holiday for unwanted players like Harden, just for more picks in a trade? No one may want Harden, unless you involve a third team.
As for Cronin, you are right about we don’t know what happened with Dame. The problem is people lie. For various reasons. Unlike the biased left wing media that hates Trump, the sports world isn’t politics but they play politics. Obviously they are woke and will say anything to the media. The players are no different. Dame for example wanted a trade after taking a supermax contract and talking loyalty. Dame wasn’t honest. He wanted money and a chip at the expense of loyalty.
Sports players and paying to watch in person or by TV is already too expensive. Plus the woke nonsense sports parrots.
We know that Miami likes to fleece teams. Be happy that Cronin is getting rid of albatross contracts we keep playing players because we overvalue them and can’t attract free agents to Portland.
I’m glad the Heat didn’t get Dame. I think that teams lie to protect players and information about trades. I get some of that.
I think Cronin gets an A because he needed a third team to save on matching salary, get Dame to a championship team and get rid of Nurk who gets hurt a lot and trade Nurk to a team where his skills are different and more value than the center that team gave up in their center with different skills. That trade yesterday makes sense.
My problem is what is Portland’s plan? Are they saying all experienced players are bad? Or not trade for one till they are much better?

I don’t think the Suns are true contenders. Their roster is kind of weird. The Bucks have a player heavy roster of wanting a dozen plus shots a game. I question them being better after losing to an 8 seed. They are kind of strange also. So is Boston. They are front court heavy. Horford should retire.

Ain’t no way you’re getting 3 first round picks for Holiday and I’m super high on him. James Harden trade wouldn’t be smart because it’s pretty difficult to get value for him at this point. Lakers can’t trade until December. Most likely trades would be to the Heat, Clippers, Bulls, Raptors, Celtics, and Knicks.
Trading Chicago for our pick would be pointless. Its lottery protected until 2028 when it becomes a 2nd…
Likely value to get back. 1 first round and maybe 2 second rounds at the most. Or one young prospect and a 1st rounder.

So, the rumbling is a Clippers/76ers/Blazers three way trade, with Harden going to the Clippers, Jrue going to the 76ers, and the Blazers getting both Clips and Sixers 1st round picks.

Hmm, do you really think 3 firsts is fair for Jrue? He was traded to the Bucks for 3 firsts and 2 swaps and now, 3 years later, at the end of his prime, he is suppose to be valued the same? Not sure that's a fair asking price for Cronin to meet.
I'd only take 1 1st rounder for Holiday if whomever took him ate more of his contract and he we get young quality players to create cap space for next off-season for us try to pull a Houston have the young quality roster then bring in really good vets

Maybe we should stay right where we sit. Our starting five PG Holiday, SG Simons, SF thybulle, PF grant, C Ayton….seems solid compared to our past rosters. Bench players (PG scoot), (SG Sharpe), (SF Murray/Rupert/Knox), (PF Bari/ Camara), (C brown/ Reath/ badji)…….. maybe we should hold. This roster is super intriguing to me. Let Chauncey and the Gang get after it. Compared too Lillard, simons, hart, grant, nurk….. we didn’t step backwards very much if at all. Simons is a great shooter too.

I hope we get great value for Jrue. But I hope it's not all draft picks. A starting level, experienced 3 – preferably on the tall / big side. And a backup Big.

Cronin is still on the hotseat. This guy took in a max contract big (that they expect to play instead of asborb a contract just to match salary) to bandaid the frontcourt, that may end up stunting our ability to continue to tank fully and earn a high draft pick in 2024. The team should not be trying to WIN NOW. And they still needs to get value for Jrue. Like Torey said, it's 2-3 firsts or equal value for this trade to be worth* Dame, Nurkic, Little, and Keon.
