  1. Cash Consideration, has to feel like shit. He is traded a few times every year.

I seem to recall some kind of online publicity stunt where they wrote letters to each other throughout their rookie season. I can’t find it online currently but I specifically remember me and my friends making fun of that. Maybe it was Mandela effect.

Imagine thinking for a solid few minutes you’re moving to San Francisco and then suddenly they’re like “Actually no you’re going to Canada, bud.”

    Or vice versa.

Vince and Antawn vs. Jerry and Sheed:

Which duo do you start an NBA team with?

    Who wins 2-on-2?

As a casual NBA fan but huge sports fan in general, can someone explain to me why this occurs in the NBA more than any other league? Like this almost never happens in the NHL, MLB, or NFL yet happens multiple times in like every draft

Fun fact: the Warriors traded for the pick that they used to draft Vince Carter. The original owners of that pick were… the Warriors.

In 1993, the Warriors drafted Penny Hardaway and then traded him and three future picks for Chris Webber. One year later, Webber, who had just won RotY, demanded a trade. So the Warriors traded him to the Washington Bullets for three draft picks and 40 games of Tom Gugliotta. Two of those Washington draft picks came from the Magic and were two of the picks that the Warriors had traded for Webber. The first pick turned into Todd Fuller, the second pick turned into Vince Carter who was then traded for Antawn Jamison.

So the Warriors traded away Penny Hardaway, Chris Webber, and Vince Carter for Todd Fuller and Antawn Jamison. In the nine years between Webber forcing himself off the team and Jamison being traded in 2003, the Warriors went a combined 227-479 for a 47.4% win rate. Never question just how much of a poverty franchise the late-90’s/early-00’s Warriors used to be.

What I don’t understand is why the Raptors traded the 4th pick for the 5th pick…

Like at that point just take Carter

Vince Carter didn’t age one bit from his draft night till his last NBA game lol

NBA needs to institute a draft dress code and go back to boring ass suits.

Does anyone hear Vince Carter say “plus what?”—he wants to know what his perceived value against Jamison is. The off screen commentator mistakenly thought that he was asking “switch what?” in reference to the hats and responds “switch hats” even though the hats have already been switched.

Warriors wanted Jameson and were afraid the Raptors would take him so they offered the Raptors cash to swap picks. This was before the Raps made their selection. Since the Raps wanted Carter anyway, they took the deal and got the cash and Carter. As part of the rules they each had to draft the player the other wanted then swap after.

Good times watching Vince Carter play here in Toronto. Used to be apart of the Bell Raptor Ball during that time. Also that dunk contest was unforgettable.🙏🏽
