Just to kill the narrative we needed Kawhi to win our 2019 championship, I don’t want Dame on the team! Our roster is way better than last year’s and the doubters will be silenced👊🏾. As a Heat fan, I agree with you. Dame is a good fit in Toronto. Portland wants OG. Deal. Miami thrives as the underdog. Dame changes that dynamic. Makes sense for all three teams.

Raptors aren't a threat to anyone in the East(If Dame not on the Raptors) unless you're a Magic, Pistons, Hornets, or Wizards fan. Chicago & Toronto can give each other a run for their money depending how LaVine & DeRozan are. Other than that, Raptors aren't beating any team that seeded better. Then there's the Pacers hoping to push in the playin after acquiring Obi Toppen + Bruce Brown. If Dame isnt in Toronto its gonna be another rough year for the 6. But best of luck to Toronto, as a Cavs fan.

It’s weird that you framed this as Heat and Houston fans hating on the Raptors because they’re scared. But as you mentioned, Raptors reporters themselves don’t want the trade. They’re not scared of the Raptors, most people just see the roster as too far away from being contenders even with Dame. Nobody is hating, the raptors would Dame would be fun. See I’m a Raptors fan and I agree. I want us to commit to a rebuild so badly. I was really hoping we’d go all in while we could before the draft and trade OG and Siakam to get Sharpe and Scoot. They’re unproven still but from the glimpses we have, they have the potential to be the most deadly backcourt since Steph and Klay. They both have all-nba, top 10 in the league, mvp caliber potential. Whether they’ll reach that or not is a very different question though cause the odds are insanely low. Those two are likely off the market though so I’d rather trade OG and Siakam to the highest bidder for young talent and picks at this point

All the mock trades have the Raptors trading 2-3 future first round picks, aswell as og, Grady, Precious, and others, the problem is clearly thinking that dame is going to fetch you 2+ prime aged players like a og+gtj or Precious And young prospects AND multi first picks. If we trade Og or Pascal that's atleast 3 Frp value for each player so if Portland wants a top player they have to choose either to get picks with no prospects like Precious/Grady in the deal or the other way around getting prospects but no picks. Getting picks, prospects And elite players all in the same deal for dame is too much for aging star with weak defensive metrics.
For those wanting to rebuild around an unproven quantity, Barnes, and an unknown quantity, Grady Dick, do I have a deal for you………………… For those thinking bringing in a star, but losing a piece like Anunoby or Siakam and more will bring you over the top, take a pill. The biggest problem this team has had over the last couple years, Nick Nurse, is gone. Van Vleet, an over the top shoot first guard, is gone. Run this team back to start the year. Personally, I think everyone will be in shock how good they are. But even if I am wrong, as the season progresses and the top teams realize they are missing that certain piece at the trade deadline, suddenly future draft picks and promising young players become available.

We've been here before. There is a host of TV sports programs and and endless number of YouTube channels that need eyeballs so they keep turning out these types of stories based on 'rumours' (rumours!)! And it's not just about the Raptors. It's about money!! We need to all get a life and stop paying attention to the same old faces and the same sites and channels with little to no actual content.

Like the video for the most part but the criticism of masai is well deserved. He didn't go for the repeat after 2019, let a lot of assets walk for free rather than taking less of a loss on a deals. To take a poker analogy we are getting blinded out. If we don't get this trade or say dame never came up on the market to begin with we would be directionless and the criticism of us being rated the worst off-season moves (and I would add for the past several years) is 100% deserved. It's all posturing and the NBA is the worst when it comes to this. Don't forget the Heat were the 8th seed last year and got some lucky bounces in the playoffs – avoiding a healthy Giannis in round 1, struggling against an over-achieving Kicks team and damn near blowing a 3-0 lead to the C's. They relied heavily on an aging Lowry to get them thru some games. They are not contenders as currently constructed.
