Love Ayton’s vibe in this
DA has an amazing opportunity to rehab his image and reputation in Portland. He’s in a helluva place to succeed with Ant and Scoot.

Dude was sooooo tired of being in Phoenix and it showed lol
I really think Ayton will thrive here. He loves to face up and shoot jumpers but he has very solid touch. Thing is, when you are playing with CP3/Booker/KD who are all All Time great mid-range jump shooters, Ayton had to turn into a dirty work Capela type of big. Which isn’t his game, which is why PHX went with Bismack/Landale because they knew their role. Obviously Ayton could have put the team first and tried to adjust his game, but as the #1 pick he probably just wanted more support and wanted to further develop.
Now we have Scoot and Simons who run a ton of PnR and are both threats to shoot and drive, then that will open up a ton for Ayton. Plus, Chauncey had experience with needing to pander to Nurks attitude so there shouldn’t be an issue to make sure Ayton gets his touches to stay engaged.
I honestly think there is a chance that Ayton can resemble some Lamarcus Aldridge here…
