OK, so I want to hear what you all think about the rumors revolving around trading Jrue Holiday.
I am in a Facebook conversation with Charlotte fans about sending Jrue to the Hornets. So far, they’re offering Terry Rozier, Kai Jones and an FRP. That’s still $3.1M short to make the deal work, so I am inquiring about JT Thor (I love that dudes name) and Bryce McGowens (a 20y/o 6’7″ scoring guard).
However, what makes me most excited about dealing with Charlotte is the idea of flipping Terry Rozier. According to Adam Taylor of Fansided, the L.A. Lakers might be interested in Terry, offering Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt in exchange (https://swarmandsting.com/2023/08/09/mock-trade-hornets-flip-terry-rozier-2-lakers-forwards/) Sound good?
Anyway, I don’t want to bias the conversation. There looks to be a multitude of options in dealing Jrue. What do you think of deal with Charlotte? What do you all think will get us the best return for Jrue Holiday?

Out of those, a deal centered around RJ Barrett or Trey Murphy would be most desirable.
The Kings would be interesting but would probably require a third team due to their abundance of guards.
Why would Charlotte want Jrue at all? They aren’t ready to compete, they should keep their picks and build around Miller and Lamelo. Regardless, if you could get an unprotected Hornets pick, I think that would be as about good as 2 protected picks from any of the contenders that have been mentioned.
Edit: sidenote, keep Kai Jones the fuck away from our guys. Hope he gets help, but why would we ever want to take on that head case
Would be cool to keep trading players for assets. Cp3/Harden and to a lesser extent brogdon could all potentially lead to more smaller trades of decent value.
Charlotte doesn’t make sense as a destination for Holiday but ngl, I like Kai Jones so I’m rolling lol
First priority should be finding a young wing + pick(s)
If we can’t find that, we should just be prioritizing picks imo
Seems like Kai is going through issues now. I wouldn’t put him highest on my target list and hope he gets help if needed.
Jru will get WAY better in trade demands than Terry Rozier. Terry Rozier is good stats horrible team and even then he is a undersized PG. We have Scoot, Shaedon, and Anfernee for our guard rotation. Only 96 minutes available with a few minutes sprinkled in at the wing spot for Shaedon if/when we want to play small. No blue chip guard acquired in a Jru trade would have enough of a role on this team as it stands.
I think it would be funny if we traded to Charlotte and received Miller as part of the deal.
Not sure if the Hornets will want this trade badly enough though. And from what I can see – there are a number of teams who would love to get Holiday.
I imagine the raptors will be near the front of that line… but who knows. Maybe we get a multi team deal with the 76ers 🤷

Why not trade Jrue directly to the Lakers? Rozier is not an upgrade over D’Lo so I don’t know why they would do that.
Dude chill. You’re not a GM. You’re not negotiating trades with other GMs. Your “offers” are just people talking shit. Charlotte doesn’t want Jrue anyway. It’s gonna be a team that wants to compete now. It’s gonna be Brooklyn or Philly or GSW or the Lakers or the Clippers. Maybe Sac wants to take a shot.

You guys should be willing a trade with OKC into existence. They have too many young guys to even keep on the roster and they’re probably too good to pick high anyway as is.
You guys could take back Oladipo/Bertans for salary and then some combo of Poku/the other J.Williams/Aaron Wiggins/Tre Mann/J.Robinson-Earl and likely a couple of picks.
As a part-time Blazers fan that’s the team I want to want Jrue.

I’m sorry but Rui and Vanderbilt for Rozier is just silly speculation. We’ve all seen the trade value that undersized score first guards have, and Rozier’s value is well below Ant’s.
