JR Smith: Kyrie the best scorer I’ve ever seen in my life. He can shoot left-handed, right-handed. He can shoot midrange, 3’s, spot-ups, off the dribble. He got the best handles we’ve ever seen. There’s nobody creatively on the basketball floor that can get any shot that they want better than him

The saying used to be the league is lucky Allen Iverson wasn’t 6’4 (or something like that). I think they’re more lucky the same isn’t true with Kyrie. So damn skilled it’s unfathomable if you haven’t seen him in person.

  2. Has JR Smith never seen Kevin Durant play? Kyrie might have better handles and more flash, but KD is the undoubtedly the better pure scorer (and has done it for longer and more consistently than Kyrie).

  3. Sixers14

Yeah so good he never scored 30 ppg. Jr smith played with or against a lot of players with more points on better efficiency than kyrie

  4. Soul0103

He’s glazing a little bit but Kyrie definitely has one of the most complete bags and is one of the best scorers in history.

Bro played with peak 2018 LeBron and still says this. Why you can’t take nba players opinions seriously just bc theyre nba players

It’s just how players are when talking about flashy iso scorers. They don’t remember when someone like Kyrie misses a shot, but they remember the tough ones that go in. All of those guys get overrated by their peers because of how cool their games look.

  7. I think calling him the most Diverse scorer is more appropriate.

I gotta be honest the more I go back and watch older games the more I realize Lebron is probably the player I’d trust the most to get me a bucket. The way he could just get to the hoop is a thing of beauty, I don’t watch Lakers games so I can’t say what he’s like now but even if Shaq and Giannis are bigger I would genuinely rather stand in their way then Lebrons. Lebron in the zone is in my opinion the greatest athlete of my generation.

  9. Cool_Cold_5554

He’s not the best. He is the most skilled. It is not the same.

I wish my ex-wife loved me as much as players love Kyrie.

Instead she loved her physical trainer as much as players love Kyrie.

Best handles i agree. Imo he is the greatest ball handler the league has ever seen. Can’t rank him that high as a scorer but still a very good one.

  12. Ru4pigsizedelephants

Yeah I’ll take MJ. He was pretty good at getting any shot he wanted.

  13. Barncore

    “Better than Jordan?”
    “Not even close”

    Jeepers

  14. He’s only 6’2″ so he can’t “get any shot he wants”. MJ is the best scorer of all time and pretty much did whatever he wanted with excellent creativity.

These guys really hate on Steph like he doesn’t exist lol

Steph have DONE THE CRAZIEST ****S BASKETBALL HAS EVER SEEN since Michael Jordan0

WON MORE than this guy too

And on court or off have ZERO issues / drama

  16. Inevitable-Tourist18

When Kyrie is engaged and invested, he’s an unbelievable basketball player. When he’s not – he becomes totally average

  17. TurbulentJudge1000

Lol ok. Curry is by far a more complete scorer and has equally as good handles. Remember that insane crossover behind the back step back 3 against CP3?

    Kyrie could never do that.

AI had better handles in my opinion as well. Deadliest crossover maybe in NBA history.

Kyrie is really good, but he’s nowhere near as good as people or players hype him to be.

  18. downtimeredditor

Why is a college golfer talking about basketball

  19. kihraxz_king

Talk to me when Kyrie begins to regularly tell players what he is going to do to them – and then doing it anyway.

    Until then, I’ll take Bird.

  20. Fuglyblacknyellow22

I want to hear of the stuff he did in practice. Shit he does in the game is already rediculous

  21. RicardoRoedor

Then why doesn’t he score more points than anyone else?

  22. RandolphE6

I don’t know what “best scorer” means to him. But Kyrie has a career high of 27.4ppg. Even someone like Giannis who isn’t really considered a scorer averaged more in the past 5 straight seasons with less FGA to boot. I doubt there’s a single GM in the league that would pick him 1st in a hypothetical “best scorer” draft in the current NBA, let alone the historically. And I think it’s obvious that Kyrie isn’t even in the same discussion as someone like MJ when it comes to putting the basketball in the hoop.

  23. WhatAHeavyLifeWeLive

Jordan does all but better. Shutup pipe

  24. jaqen_hgr

But Curry led the Warriors to 4 championships.

I would take the shooter over the dribbler any day of the week.

  25. KiteIsland22

I’ve never seen a player dribble around and score on Draymond the way Kyrie did to him when Cleveland won the title. That shit was so impressive. No one scored on Draymond like that back then and Kyrie did it often in that series.

  26. Fhaksfha794

This sub would rather watch their entire family get murdered than praise Kyrie. Everything JR said was true, bro can do everything on the basketball court offensively, just like PG, they just don’t take as many shots as guys like KD or Giannis but they can score in any way possible

  27. myNameBurnsGold

Kyrie is clearly one of the most skilled players ever. But, there are so many players that are better scorers than him.

  28. butterflyl3

It has to be KD. Who cares about bag when you can rise up and shoot over people at an ultra-efficient rate.

  29. rudebwoy100

Kyrie might be one of the skilled offensive players of all time but definitely not the best scorer. He’s too small and slow which is why MJ etc is so much more effective even if you want to argue for Kyrie being more skilled offensively.

  30. AntonioLovesHippos

I don’t think Kyrie is better than Steph at anything, and Steph is 1000Xs the better leader. Better ball handler? Maybe, but Steph is so deadly without the ball in his hands.

  31. The guy is a golfer, why are we going to listen to him?

  32. Kyrie has a really pretty game but saying he’s the most creative or best he’s ever seen is silly. Bro the tape is right there you can watch a dude in the 90s knock down triple clutch layups from basically behind the backboard by the time it happens
