The NBA news continued to roll over the weekend, with some big moves impacting the Milwaukee Bucks. Damian Lillard arrived in Milwaukee. Cameron Payne is set to sign with the Bucks. Jrue Holiday was traded to the Boston Celtics. Kane and Justin discuss the latest, asking plenty of questions along the way. Does the Lillard trade feel real? Did Payne over Bullock make sense? How much of a concern are the Boston Celtics?

What was your reaction to Jrue Holiday being traded to Boston?
I don't think there better, especially with Jrue going to Boston, Jrue shutdown Dame all the time. Say what you want about Allen but he's way better on defense than Dame, don't know if they're better, there just different.
Boston trading for Jrue makes me nervous, because I remember a few years old , Jrue outplayed Dame in the playoffs. The Sucess of this team will depend on the development of the younger players.
Kane, you (LockedOnBucks) probably think I am a negative person, but the truth is that I am actually a very good person. If you guys are gonna delete my posts because I say things that y'all don't agree with, y'all can go ahead. I react to what people say. I react to what LockedOnBucks says.
When Reggie Miller said Tyler Herro is more valuable to the Heat than Giannis is to the Bucks and LockedOnBucks agreed with him, what do you want me to say? This is nothing but pure disrespect for Giannis.
Giannis got hurt in 2021 playoffs and Charles Barkley said it was a good thing that Giannis got hurt because Jrue Holiday could finally have a chance to get his rhythms. What do you want me to say about that?
You guys can delete my posts or even banned me completely, but I am not gonna stop standing for what's right. It's now very public that Giannis isnt treated the way 99.99% of NBA players are treated.
After getting 2 smaller guards in Dame, and Payne. Do we consider trying to make a package with 2 of these 4- Beasley, Pat, Jay, or Robin to go after a guy like Dorian Finnny Smith or Bullock? I like the added depth incase of injury, but in playoff shrunk rotations. It would be nice to have a guy to put on Tatum and his like.
Starting- Dame, Khris, Dorian, Giannis, Lopez?
Or maybe wait a bit and see how Marjon is doing?
What super team?
The celtics dont have a rim protector. So while jrue and others have great rim protectors giannis is going to eat against them
I disagree with pressure on giannis making free throws that Justin mentioned… if they have only 6 great players in their rotation and only 2 bigs, they don’t have the luxury (depth) of hacking and sending him to the line because their best guys can’t afford to be in foul trouble. So I think trading away smart rob grant and Brogdon for jrue and kp actually helps the bucks. Bobby brook and giannis are playing against old horford and injury prone soft kp that giannis just dropped a career high 55 points on. The Celtics made panic trades this offseason and it’s gonna cost them. They might be able to limit dame in isolation with white and holiday but the pick and roll with giannis will still work fine. If they play drop that’s easy 3s for dame. If they switch then giannis can post up the guard or dame can iso the big. And if they trap dame then u got giannis coming downhill playing 4 on 3. This jrue trade will actually help us in my opinion. The worst part about Boston was their elite depth because they could give giannis so many different looks and foul him as much as they want. Put smart grant horford rob on him. Now it’s really just horford cause kp can’t guard him at all lol. Giannis’ biggest struggle with Boston was how their best defenders were constantly flopping against him which put giannis in foul trouble from OFFENSE and now that’s gone too. Giannis will have the time of his life playing against boston moving forward.
They should trade horford
Great show—the Best !! listened for years. Your broadcast microphone is TERRIBLE. Sounds like you are locked in a closet. Spends a little money and get a microphone so listnerscan understand you
Both teams are great. It’s a coin flip. But who’s stopping Giannis on the pick n roll in Boston’s front court? Horford slowed Giannis down somewhat in the Bucks old, anemic half court offense. Giannis will blow by him running the pick n roll with Dame and he’ll abuse Porzingis. Dame’s averaged 25.5/4.3/6.6 against Jrue and that was without having someone like Giannis.
Jrue and White are going to lock Dame's azz down
Embiid huh..Isn't he pretty close to Giannis?lol
Man, Celtics were the one team I didn’t want Jrue to go to. Happy for him to be on a contender but now with our lack of wing defenders plus them having a certified Dame stopper I’m scared of them. BUT they also don’t have Williams x 2 and Smart triple teaming Giannis and our boy torches Portzingus.
I would sign Reggie Bullock and make Thanasis a coach
Boston has no bigs to slow down Giannis, Milwaukee has no wing defenders to slow down Tatum & Brown. When they match up in the playoffs this will be an epic series. Cannot wait for the show down. Any we have anything left to trade for PJ tucker back?
Since the 2020-2021 season Dame has shot 68.8% from the field and 62.5% on 3 pointers when guarded by Jrue
The Celtics are very top heavy. No bench depth whatsoever. Good luck with that..
Milwaukee Bucks have Bobby Portis, Jae Crowder, Malik Beasley, Robin Lopez to name a few (and now also Cam Payne). Plus, I would love to see grandpa Horford try to match up against the towers of Power Giannis and Brook Lopez + Bobby
This shit going to look different once we see the Greek Dolla Pick n’ Roll i promise you guys 😂
I don't think people remember that Celtics series quite well. Al Horford straight up punked Giannis 1v1 locked him down and had Giannis TERRIFIED to attack the rim
Bullock would be a big pick up for you IMO
2 all nba defenders to lock up Dame…Bucks still have no answer for the Jays however
Yea, we love jrue and we know what that man is capable of but keep in mind we have serious problems creating, finding and making shots in the 3rd and 4th and jrue isnt/hasnt been the guy for that job. We lose some D but we've been daring ppl to beat us from 3 since bud came and its just now been a problem since the offense hasn't been able to keep up. Unless boston finds some interior defense (which they could) we good.
The reality is that the Celtics have built their team to beat the Bucks.
I LOVE Justin’s thoughts on the Celtics defense against us. The Celtics were the first team I didn’t want Jrue to be on; love him on the show and I love his takes
I wish thanasis didn’t count as a roster spot!! We could use that to sign bullock!!
Cam Payne is an excellent answer to Boston grabbing Holiday! I love Cam's game! He puts the hard work and effort in every time he's on the court!! He's a quiet finisher when he's on the floor and this asset is EXACTLY what the Bucks will need to help Dame and the team close out games. I can't believe Cam was available. Go snatch Bucks!
Bucks need one more legit wing defender to top Celtics
THE DAME TRADE IS NOW A
C GRADE! 🤬
That was great show guys. Justin is a game changer, his takes are always great and he lets Kane have his turn😅
Justin seems to be buying hard into the mass market media trap of over inflating the value of Celtics players. Jrue completely fell apart on defense last year giving up 37 ppg to Jimmy Butler, Jaylen Brown had an abysmal 46% True Shooting in the conference, Al Horford had a similarly awful TS% for the entire playoffs and is now going to be 38 and have to spend the entire game as the primary defender on Giannis, they have no one after Horford to guard Brook, their 3rd best guy is brittle bones Porzingis who hasn't played in the playoffs since 2021 when he shot under 30% from 3, and they lost 50% of their playoff rotation.
Basically the only threat they have to us is the defense of White and Holiday, one of which is barely Connaughton on offense and the other is even worse and can't do anything but guard 1 on 1 against Middleton and Dame because of the threat of Giannis if they over-commit to stop them. I just can't imagine thinking that with all of that the Boston defense is "terrifying". Even if you made the absolutely absurd assumption that their backcourt, which is admittedly fantastic defensively, can turn Dame and Healthy Middleton into the 2023 versions of Jrue and Middleton, you still have Giannis and Brook running 100% free against the rest of that team. It's just ridiculous to find that terrifying.
Also saying "2s are more than 3s" just shows a fundamental misunderstanding of why Giannis thrives in the current nba. Average points per shot is the only true way to measure the value of any given shot. A player who shoots 60% from 2 has the exact same shot value as a player who shoots 40% from 3.
What about lopez. Wheres Boston's answer for him?
difference between Jrue Holiday and Marcus Smart ,, Jrue does not flop every time a defender is near
☘️ 🧹 🦌
Not that impressive of a trade since it ended with your biggest rival obtaining your 2nd best player
Lillard is phenomenal. It won't be long Milwaukee… Dame was arguably the best player in the NBA last season. The Blazers sucked so bad, it fogged up the amazing talent Damian brought to the court.
Payne to the Bucks is really great. Don't mess this up coach ✌
Head to head, the Celtics completely outclassed the Bucks last season, they averaged nearly 135pts, 54% FGA, 44% 3PA. Good offence beat what was supposed to be good defense. This may seem counterintuitive, but that lack of an efficient half court offence is what hurt the Bucks in these games. The Bucks have to make shots, force Boston to play half court offence in a close game, and see who can be clutch at the end of the game. I feel better about the Bucks prevailing in that scenario now than I did before the trades.
The bucks are not a super team lmao middleton isn’t a perennial allstar lmao like bruh y’all be calling duos superteams way to quick
The key point for Bucks' success this year is going to be Middleton. If he plays like a true member of a "big three" we will be ok.
