Look, we all love Dame but in 3-4 years portland will be one of the top teams (probably already for a couple years prior) while dame will be 36,37, maybe retired and giannis will be pushing 35 shortly

Portland just rewrote the book on how to rebuild without years of bottoming out. Know we won’t be great this year but wouldn’t be too surprised if we over deliver and make the play-in. Future so bright gotta wear shades. 😎

ITT: people who have never had a championship-caliber program in their city trying to make light of driving away the best player in franchise history through an epidemic of historic mismanagement. Watch, as soon as any of these new Blazers is halfway decent, but doesn't seem like franchise player, then will begin the trade chatter, because any Blazer who steps up (Josh Hart, Gary Payton III, CJ McCollum) becomes the next sacrifice for the grass-is-always-greener crowd. You people are more interested in GM moves than you are in actual basketball or what it takes to truly build a championship contending program like Golden State, San Antonio (historical), Miami, or Denver. If you look at those programs, the last thing they would ever do is to trade away (or ice out through inaction) their best player. I don't necessarily buy the idea we couldn't have gotten Durant last year, or Draymond this summer. I think Cronin is a dishonest egomaniac who simply refused to try because he wants this team to be his team, a pattern we have seen before from GMs. He let the most exciting, grittiest, most clutch player in the league, who just wanted a freaking chance to compete, walk because Portland would always rather make cynical meh trades and nonsensical draft picks (Oden? Collins?) than actually build a winning culture with a strong core like 99% of NBA titles are won by. If we were gonna rebuild we shoulda moved Dame before the deepest draft in recent history.
Simons makes some highlight dunks but only 26 dunks all year isn’t that much and 2.6reb and .7stl .2blk in 35mpg all indicate his athleticism is overrated. Also his defense is just terrible in general. He’s really good don’t get me wrong but if he doesn’t improve his defense and rebounding he won’t be a starter when the team is trying to compete again he will have to be 6th man. I hope he figures it out

I still think they should've drafted Amen Thompson so Simons can get into the starting lineup but this is a good Big 3.
They just need to get a perimeter defensive wing who can score 17+ppg (ex. Otto Porter, Wiggins, Tre Murphy) and they'll be unstoppable. Maybe this will be Matas Buzelis. Ideally, Cooper Flagg would be the best thing to happen to Portland, though.

One of the most exciting things about Shaedon is how efficiently he shot the ball last season.
In 4-5 years time Portland will be good same with Okc and the Spurs.
PG: Scoot, SG: Simons, SF: Sharpe, PF: Grant, CT: Ayton. Other option: Scoot, Sharpe, Thybull, Grant, Ayton and have Simons as the 6th man. I think this Portland team is going to be scary in a couple of years. Scoot and Sharpe will be all-stars in a couple of seasons, I just hope the Blazer organization doesn’t screw this up and go all in on a championship when that window opens up.
