NY Times profile on Rich Paul and his upcoming memoir “Lucky Me”: Lebron met Rich Paul as a teenager, soon paying him $48,000 a year—“I used to style LeBron his rookie year,” Paul said, adding: “I could be anything. I could be a stylist, music executive, coach.”

Love the caption of the photo of Paul sitting courtside with Adele:
>“I try to keep it as private as I possibly can,” Mr. Paul said of his relationship with Adele.
“Lucky Me” really is the most appropriate title for this dude’s book.
if you hang out at the airport wearing a cool jersey, you too could bump into the next lebron and parlay it into becoming one of the most powerful sports agents in the world
Lebron is so true to where he came from. Just so authentic. Nice to see in this world
ahem, _Klutch Sports CEO_ Rich Paul
Loyal meat rider
what’s up with these comments? just terminally online idiots rushing to make jokes and snide remarks
People are hating but I appreciate the confidence.
Not gonna hate on a black dude coming up in what’s usually a white man’s dominated profession. Does his story feel like a “use this one weird trick (be friends with the most marketable and famous athlete since MJ) to make it in business!” meme? Sure. But at least he made the most of the opportunity.
Not the grades you make but the hands you shake
Rich Paul is who Turtle from Entourage wanted to become
He locked down Adele too. Whew.
Its wild how much we hate on this dude for grabbing the chance he got and making the most from it.
Didn’t Lebron just have a generic “oversized clothes” style when he was young?
Y’all hatin as always & couldn’t do a fraction of what he has if you knew 10 LeBrons lmao… the connection only gets you so far
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul is a special talent but I would NOT want to be associated with anything LeBron was wearing in ‘02
He mentions on Gil’s podcast that he was only on Bron’s payroll for like 2 years before he started doing his own thing. For people who think he’s been bumming off Bron forever.
Lol all these people hating on this dude when half of the people who run the big banks (and the country) happened to get there because there parents (or rich af grandparents) knew a guy who just let them roll in. George W. Bush, Jamie Dimon, Bill Gates, even Warren Buffet all had connections and successful parents but nobody hates on them – but because it’s a black dude who got lucky one time and then has grinded his whole life to make a sports/expanding media empire (despite a white dominated industry specifically trying to bar him from it) it’s all comments about nepotism lmao
I’ll never understand why some people on this sub hate him so much
His profession is filled with people who had the leg up their whole lives, but Rich gets all this hate for turning an interaction with Lebron into an empire. Like he still didn’t have to do the work, I’m sure he had to do a lot just to earn Lebrons trust. And yea I’m gonna say race plays a part because otherwise he’s much more like people on here than 90% of people of his success.
I don’t know a lot about the dude, but I bet he has a fascinating life story. From wherever he came from to dating Adele, being the agent of the biggest American athlete of the time and starting his own agency.
He’s clearly capable and ambitious, and yeah lucky. You see people here knock him for that all the time but I bet they just want the same lucky break. A lot of people have tried to make their way into LeBron’s group but he’s one of the few anyone knows of.
Maybe I’m missing something bad about this guy because I don’t know much about him, but I don’t understand all the hate. He got extremely lucky but so does every other highly successful person. He took that lucky opportunity and turned it into something bigger.
I did almost this exact same thing, but with Zach Wilson. I clearly chose wrong
A little known fact, before he started working for Lebron, he was just known as “Paul.”
What’s with Rich……his name is Richard or Dick
Kinda reminds me of Jon Peters who started as Barbra Streisand’s hairdresser and turned into a movie producer.
yeah, when you luck out enough to befriend an elite in high school, you pretty much can have anything, do anything, or be anything you want! it’s actually fucking awesome good for him… I wish my high school friends weren’t such bums!
He reminds me of that guy with the bowtie that used to hold P. Diddy’s umbrella.
I think we should be afraid of the massive part luck plays in all our lives.
“I could be the most humble man in the world, if I wanted to”
Rich Paul is proof that if you work hard enough, network with the right people, befriend a teenager when you are in your 20’s who is going to become a billionaire someday, then you too can be widely successful
Props to him for taking advantage of the opportunity. Dude was a stranger and a nobody. One mistake or lack of effort could have had him booted by Lebron. If we were told you would meet 18 year old lebron and he would listen to whatever you have to say. None of us would do what Rich Paul did.
Do you think they ever…you know…
Really is the least talented, luckiest guy alive
Rich Paul sucks.
