Copy the Utah Jazz please, and make a Blazers+ stream so we don’t need to deal with this bullshit anymore.

  2. ZeroDeath99

Every year they make it more and more complicated, and every year it just reminds me why I stream the games in a way that they cannot monetize. If they’re not going to make the games easy to find and watch then fuck em.

  3. AsiaNxNinja

The fans got the Blazers attention. We should get #FreeTheBlazers trending on Twitter and hope root reacts

  4. tblazrdude

Chris McGowan’s ROOT deal starting to look like Tim Connelly’s MPJ extension. Woof.

  5. People will be cynical about this but I’m actually surprised and encouraged to see them commenting on it. This reads like it caught them by surprise too and they’re pissed.

Will anything come of it? I don’t know, but it would have been very easy (and on brand for them) to just ignore this and let it ride. I don’t expect a Jazz-style option, but I feel more optimistic about the situation now than I did last night.

Did the Blazers just tell their fans to dump Comcast/Xfinity for Direct TV Live Stream or Fubo TV?

  7. Orwell1971

yeah, by telling fans to upgrade their package

  8. Jollyhat

    Fuck chris mcgowan.

The blazers continue to screw this up year after year.

Hey, at least 900k people in Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Alaska can watch Blazer games. Most eyeballs of any media deal we’ve ever had!
Oh that has no material benefit to actual in-state fans in any way? And access has steadily decreased in options, and increased in price every single year since the deal was signed? Man, aren’t we lucky.

  10. I hope this is the beginning of the Trail Blazers finding a way to make it easier to watch their games. This statement by itself is inadequate

  11. EvanTurningTheCorner

I disagree that it’s been addressed. This is a PR statement, not an action plan.

  12. PatrickVieira

Getting called broke by the sports team I support 😎

  13. This message from them is so weak, they aren’t going to do shit. It is literally just telling us to contact xfinity to complain, as if that will work. Why do they keep doing terrible TV deals? 🤦‍♂️

  14. Krustykrab8

Literally follow the suns plan when this contact is up. People would pay the 15 bucks per month or whatever for blazer game streams.

  15. TheRealFakeDoors503

If the Blazers just did their own online stream I would happily watch every and all commercials as long as that means we’re off Root

  16. BoneApple_T

Posting my comment again from another one of these posts

“Cable sucks. Nba league pass sucks. Not being able to simply watch any game you want sucks.

That’s why I use streams. Problems solved.

If anyone sees this and is new to setting sail and becoming a pirate with the rest of us, let me know. Send me a chat, and I’ll get you all up to date on where to go and need to do.”

If the Blazer games hadn’t moved from Blazervision to KGW back in the day chances are I wouldn’t be a die hard Blazers fan today. The ease of access during those times are what made me the rabid fan I am today. Its laughable that the front office doesn’t realize how short sighted and greedy they are being.

  18. joebroobs

ROOT SPORTS is owned by the Mariners. It’s no surprise it’s incompetently ran.

  19. SnooMachines6509

The Blazers don’t care about their fans, haven’t for years

  20. Mixing_It_Hot

Wait I’m stupid, so even if I have league pass I can’t watch the games?

  21. Judging by the reactions today, I’m not certain most fans know how these things work

  22. HappyAtheist3

It’s depressing that’s it’s 2023 and I have to illegally stream if I wanna watch the Mariners or Blazers
