Specifically the part about skilled bigs beginning to re-take the league. I’ve been saying this for the last few years. Look at how good we were when we last had a very skilled Center: Patrick Ewing carried us the the Finals and multiple ECFs. I think its time to move on from Mitch. Every time I say it, I get mercilessly downvoted but we have to acknowledge his shortcomings if we are seriously going to contend for a ring.
He did fantastic against Cleveland but Bam and Spo negated him quite effectively. He’s been great for us but by the end of the year, its time to take that next step.

So who’s the replacement then?
Move on to what? Yea a skilled MVP caliber center would be great, and once we find one Mitch is easily tradeable with his skill set and contract. Not exactly a hot take that if there’s a more skilled big man to be had that we should move on but I haven’t exactly seen us passing on any star playmaking centers just to keep Mitch around lol.
The NBA lost it’s mind for around 7 years. Using small ball lineups is a HUGE scam. Rebounds aren’t trends and aren’t to be wiped away by analytics. You control the glass in the playoffs and you’re going to come out victorious. Why? Giving teams extra shots in the playoffs = slow death.
The Knicks have the right formula. The issue is getting the stud player on our roster.
Easier said than done. Skills are skills. You give me prime Patrick Ewing on THIS Knicks roster and we win the NBA TITLE….easily. Styles of play don’t change the game. Talent does.
The NBA changed the rules to allow this silly 3 point game to rule, but in the playoffs, two constants remain
1. Control the glass
2. Get the easiest points possible.
#2 is the key. You have a dominant big man and you’re going to score at will against small ball lineups.
I don’t even care about the video once I clicked and saw the title. Wemby is the construct of the leagues evolution. He’s that honest unicorn that everybody dreams of when the draft “development bigs who can shoot”. The guy is the truth even more than Oden could have been.
Just enjoy the ride instead of playing this nonsense taking his flowers away. Dude is ridiculous and Chet was reminding himself he supposed to be good when that train ran through.
