[Kansas City Star] Josh Jackson is alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman in a New York hotel last year and subsequently sent two women to intimidate her by breaking into her apartment.

> After a night out, Jackson allegedly texted her, inviting her with “come through” and offered “$1,500 if you pull up.” Although the woman declined the money, she took an Uber arranged by Jackson to his hotel room at the New York Edition, believing the party was still underway. To her surprise, she was alone with Jackson, who, clad in basketball shorts, boasted of having “$12 million in his bank account.” She retorted, “I am not here for your money. I am not a gold digger.” After consuming alcohol, she fell asleep in his room. She later claims Jackson forcibly removed her clothing and assaulted her, leading her to “pass out from the trauma, confusion, and horror of the incident.” She left the room the following morning and purchased emergency contraception.

I know Reddit is like annoyingly woke and biased in favor of women no matter what but doesn’t this seem a bit fishy?

Way too much context is left out, Im open to discussion tho

Edit: one of you knuckle heads sent me a redditcares message lmfaooo

    > In court filings, Jackson’s attorney, John Lauro, called the allegations “very serious, albeit entirely false,” and said Jackson “emphatically denies” that he committed any assault.
    >
    > Lauro had asked [Judge] Carter to deny the woman’s request to not name herself publicly, contending his client is a “target” for anyone threatening “public humiliation for failing to pay on extortionate threats.”
    >
    > He also attacked her credibility. “She maintains a provocative and sexualized social media presence, while seeking relationships with professional athletes and others,” Jackson’s attorney wrote, later adding: “Sadly, for too long in our nation’s history, black men have faced the horrific consequences of defending themselves against false allegations of sexual misconduct.”

Gross. Lauro was Tim Donaghy’s lawyer.

  4. Still sickens me that we drafted this guy over Fox.

NBA has enough talent to ban dudes like this.

I’d like to withhold judgement until everything comes out but given this kid’s history, it’s not looking good for him. Hopefully there’s justice for this woman if her story is true

Every day I thank this moronic scrub for refusing to work out with Boston.

  8. Pocket_Beans

I remember when there was lots of debate over whether the Celtics should take this guy at 3 or Jayson Tatum

  9. Djokerforlife

She isnt there for the money but still stayed drank and even slept there what?

  10. iCOULDbewr0ng

Having 12 mil just sitting in your bank account is stupid as hell

  11. frozenwaterking

nobody goes to a hotel room thinking theres a party and get paid 1,500 to go to a hotel room party. she knew the situation thats why she stayed the night, that rich bitch coulda bought a uber. same thing happened to kobe

  12. antipistonsandsixers

    Can he ball?

Ah it’s Josh Jackson and not a prospect.

    Irelevant dude.

So she went to his room at 3am to “party” found him only in his shorts and said she wasn’t there for sex. She was disappointed there wasn’t a party and after he revealed his bank account worth stayed. she drank and slept in his room with him after 3am. And after the alleged assault she stayed in the room till the morning? What????

  14. CantFade13

Yeah this is fishy as hell. “I’m not here for your money” then why even accept his invite, enter the room when you know there’s no party, and drink until you pass out. All the while she has a “romantic interest in Andre Drummond’s ~~bank account.~~” What did she hope to achieve out of this. Did she expect she was gonna play cards with a half naked Jackson at 3am? How can she remember details months after but couldn’t recall anything in June when the initial report was filed? Oh and then later Jackson claims that she stole his watch…hmm that doesn’t sound like a setup at all /s

If true then yeah he’s a piece of shit and I’ll retract what I say but there’s just so much inconsistency here i can’t wrap my head around what her intentions were. Seems like another money grab

Probably should wait for more info or how the case plays out. Sadly this could be another case of false allegations which happens often.

  16. UngaMeSmart

not excusing Jackson… but who goes up to a hotel room in this situation after being offered $1500? what do they think the money is for???

  17. AbshirThePoet

Ya’ll don’t see how fishy this story is? So he texted her to come over and would pay her if she did, obviously meaning he was after sex. She still comes over, at 3am mind you, but says she’s not there for sex she’s there for a party. When she sees Jackson is alone and half naked and there is no party, she *decides to stay, drink, and sleep in his bed* anyway. What woman does this in a random guy’s (who she’d just met that night) room, when it’s just the two of them? Come on

I’m not gonna accuse her of lying bc we don’t know but i’m not gonna say JJ is guilty either because this story sounds fishy.

  18. How did she drink alcohol and fall asleep in his bedroom. Why did she even stay there in the first place if the party was done. Not trying to hate on her specifically because I don’t know the whole situation to comment but there are a lot of people like this that are very naive and need to take life more serious.

  19. Kesman90

Am I the only one that thinks women shouldnt drink and pass out in random nba player apartments?

Don’t get me wrong if this is true he should defo pay for it but the story is just sort of fishy… sounds like she should have just took a uber back?

CHALLENGE: Reddit trys not to immediately cruficy someone the moment an accusation is made (IMPOSSIBLE)

  21. I knew this mf was nuts from day one with that stupid ass Afro in 2010

  22. asparagusbruh

No dumb shit if you’re willing to give 1500 to a girl to sleep with her just give it at a hooker or something then theres no confusion over intent

  23. AgreeableWhereas8631

I’m starting to think Tatum may have been the better draft pick

  24. grandpatoenail

For me, Josh Jackson has been the “well everyone is saying he’s supposed to be really good so I guess he’s good?” Watched him day 1 at Kansas and all through that season and it seemed like the only upside of Josh Jackson was that he was a top ranked player out of high school and expected to be a high lottery pick. That’s it. His game was never any good, people just said he was good.

  25. Jewellinius

With all due respect it reads like a pasta.

Woman denied the money but came anyway. Denied the naked guy, but drank on some weird party and slept near this “offender” like its nothing. Yeah right.

So Id rather wait till decision before jumping to conclusions.

  26. someroastedbeef

why are we all jumping to conclusions? after what happened to trevor bauer, people need to be cautious around allegations

  27. k1ngkoala

We have no idea whether or not she consented, that’s why the court exists. However all of her actions in the story are of someone that did consent/agree to the arrangement. Innocent until proven guilty

  28. Babushkabb336

9/10 times this happens it’s a woman of a different ethnicity than the perpetrator, makes you think 🤔

  29. _Cartizard

She turned that $1,500 to get some of that that 12 million from this made up case. She came over, got drunk, had sex, and then made up a story to get that payout.

  30. Josh Jackson isn’t good enough at basketball to rape women like my hero Kobe, get this bum out of the league.

  31. Look, you never know for sure, but this story seems pretty fishy.
