well, if that is really the case i dont see why he can’t simply tell the organization beforehand he has an important personal matter so there is no media shit storm, but i cant knock him for cutting out for a sick parent. my mom recently had a scare that thankfully turned out to be nothing serious and it definitely knocked me off my heels for moment.
