The Utah Jazz wrapped pre-season last night in Sacramento and David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider learned 6 things about the team.
He learned
1) Will Hardy is going to have a difficult job and is going to need a lot of creativity to work with this unique roster
2) John Collins is going to need to time to adjust. This is not the same as Lauri Markkanen coming to the Jazz and quite a change for John.
3) 1 of the 3 19 year old rookies is ready to contribute
4) Jordan Clarkson is the best passer on the team
5) No one is dramtically different
6) Offensively the Jazz are a drive and off-ball screen team not a top of the floor pick and roll team.

What did you learn from the pre-season?

Starting guards gotta be Clarkson and Dunn
Keyonte can be good but still has a lot of work to do. We should be patient while he learns the role. It is easy to get expectations too high to fast.
My biggest concern for this team is 100% around the way the offense stalls when THT is at the point. THT's game is not for me. He plays one on five basketball.
If Hardy thought Dunn was a starter he would have started him by now.
The offense just runs so much better with Dunn and George in the backcourt. That George might already be better than THT and Sexton overall. He isn't quite the scorer or defender yet, but the offense just feels more natural with him in.

Dunn is LIGHTYEARS ahead of THT. His 1 on 5 antics might work against rookies and end-of-benchers, but against Denver? Any good defensive team? No. Dead stop.
Its ok David I lnow you cant say it: JC being the best passer besides Olynyk is an INDICTMENT on the team…..as an employee you have to phrase that as "interesting"😂😂 I get it.
Play the young guys. The best way to learn is through experience, not on the bench.
