In my honest opinion the main reason they couldn't win another ring is after Garnett got that injury in 2009 he wasn't the same player. KG looked way less explosive and slow in the 2010 playoffs and finals.
The only team that milks their 1 championship more than the 2008 Celtics is the 2004 Pistons

If Perkins doesn't shred his knee in game 6 of the 2010 finals, Boston wins game 6 and the championship. Boston was up 3-2 in the series and the injury happened in the 1st quarter. People forget that Perkins was a problem for the laker bigs. I'll go to my grave believing that the celtics win game 6 if the knee injury doesn't happen.

That knee injury k.g. had change this team still was able to compete but to me they should had been in a championship series for 3-4 years before trading Kendrick Perkins
Simple answer is Doc is overrated, Thibs defense is what put them over and Lakers had two starters hurt. Had LA been at full strength I doubt they even win 1

Kevin Garnett got injured. That’s the reason. Perkins got injured in game six in the 2010s Finals otherwise they may have had a 3-peated.
Doc Rivers has milked this chip like no one else. Honestly this has been one of the most disappointing teams of all time. Stop hyping these celtics please. lol.
