Caught a pretty cool moment before the Celtics-Knicks opener at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night: Hall of Fame announcer Mike Breen seeking out Hall of Fame announcer Mike Gorman to tell him how much respect and admiration he’s had for his legendary career.
This is the start of Gorman’s final season on the mic after 43 years as the voice of the Celtics.
Brought a tear to my eye. Love to see him getting respect. Gonna miss this guy 🥺

Crazy thing is that Tommy ISN’T in the hall as an announcer. I realize I’m a homer but Tommy did national games for a long time and is also the most famous local color man ever! Put that man in the Hall of Fame (for a third time)!
Between the Celtics & the old Big Monday Big East games w/ Billy Raftery, Gorman’s voice on the mic was basically the soundtrack of my life. God I’m gonna miss this guy.
