AD says Christian Wood asked to guard Kevin Durant in the 4th quarter: “He took on a challenge. He came to us and said he wanted to take KD at the end.” (KD shot 4-11 in the 4th and just 1-7 when guarded by Wood)

Where’s those Ham fans at now? Y’all thinking it was Hams idea lol the players won the game regardless how bad Ham has coached

I can appreciate when a player wants to take on the challenge. Especially if he produces on either/or both ends of the floor.

KD’s inability to attack the rim and settle for middy’s bodes well with Wood’s long wingspan to contest shots and not having to get dragged in the paint.

I assume one of the reasons wood has looked better is bc of conditioning, early preseason he looked so slow. Last night he was moving much quicker. His combination of size length and ability to move his feet is something we don’t have besides Vando and AD. If wood can continue switching on some wings, he can definitely earn way more minutes going forward

Wood having that mentality would unlock so much for the team. This version of the Lakers can play so big with Wood, AD, Rui, TP, and Bron

Christian Wood, the KD stopper, is not something I put on my 2023 bingo card. Surprise.

Yes, this sub thinking this was Ham’s idea to switch him on to KD, and rotate bodies to him is pretty lol. There’s a whole thread in here on giving credit to Ham for this. 🙂

Love when a player grows and matures—amazing mindset going into the season.

If this is true then Christian is going to be fully unlocked soon

He came up big on defense and rebounding. Also liked seeing him out there with AD and Hayes at different times. Ham should’ve used more of a 2 big lineup against Denver.
