> “We drew up a play and then afterward, kind of had it in transition and he came up to me and he was like, basically, whenever we’re in transition, just come up and set a screen and we’re going to get it,” Jackson-Davis told the Chronicle. “After the game, he came up to me and congratulated me on a great game and basically said that we’re going to get this pick-and-roll stuff down. So I’m excited.”
He being Chris Paul. Love this. CP made a comment in his on court post-game interview last night, when asked a question about his thoughts on Moody and Kuminga, where (I’m paraphrasing) he said sometimes the biggest thing young guys need is someone that believes in them and instills in them the confidence to go out there and play their game. This very much looks like that exact thing in practice. I understand now why Dray, over the summer, frequently mentioned really looking forward to watching how CP is with young players because he has such a unique and incredible way of mentoring them in ways that directly translate on the court.
I think TJD should play with more passion.
I really like CP as a person on this team so far — he’s respectful with the young players while knowing his place as more experienced, with knowledge to get them there. This team really needed Chris Paul which comes as a big surprise, but so true.
